50 rider start list, we're at rider 18 or something: "HE IS NEARLY A SECOND FASTER, HOW DID HE DO THAT?? THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING!!" as if this is probably the greatest run in the history of mankind. Uhm, how about...no, it's not? The better riders, on average, are towards the end, it's absolutely normal for riders to make up some good time on riders before them early on in the race... Don't get me wrong, I think downhill racing is a perfect event for some extra enthousiastic commentary, it's fast and risky and can be fairly sensational. However, it's no reason to come across as if you have not a single clue about times, splits, etc (because there's no doubt their knowledge about the sport and riders itself is very, very good)
