  1. More details coming up about Van Gelder.. Apparently it was his coach who had a big role in him leaving the team. "I've been there for Yuri for 10 years, supported him for 10 years, always wanted nothing but the best for him for 10 years and that has not changed a bit now. I would have wanted nothing more than lifting him up in the rings next week for the routine of his life, but not at the cost of everything." Also, people are angry at our NOC for sending him home, but it looks like they did him a huge favour. According to some rumours, our NOC decided not to have Van Gelder tested for recreational drugs after his night out in the local nightlife, which could lead to huge legal problems for him and a possible future with his Brazilian girlfriend.. (I don't know the legal details though)
  2. He thought this atrocity right here was a good idea
  3. Phelps, Lochte, Hagino Although I would be happy if you are right and Lewis Lochte Hamilton doesn't make the podium
  4. Coventry makes her 4th consecutive Olympic 200m backstroke final, wow
  5. Let's see if the trend continues and Larkin fails to medal.
  6. This final was like a morning heat or something, so disappointing..
  7. McKeown outside of the medals, surprise.
  8. Simonas Bilis in the finals, @Werloc and @Bearas must be happy
  9. Well let's hope they can get their A-game in and put down a good game...let's be honest, ARG - NED should have been the final
  10. Three teams through, one out, so far so good. It's just very disappointing to see such a lack of atmosphere and attendance...I had really expected and hoped more in "beach volleyball country"
  11. Now hold on, Fernando Gaviria is the favourite in the men's omnium
  12. 1. I'm watching it to see good fights, and even though GBR won, the men's team sprint was an amazing fight 2. Despite what they've shown so far, we actually do have a few medal chances and I'd like to see them try I've been watching the table tennis as well and the chance of a non-Chinese nation winning the gold there was significantly smaller than the chance of a non-British nation winning a track cycling gold
  13. Well Müllenberg up against Mammadov of Azerbaijan, so as long as he doesn't KO him, there's no way our guy would win. And that shows.
  14. A Pacific island winning gold by beating a European nation which beat an African nation in the semi's after beating an Asian nation themselves while said European nation eliminated an American nation, talk about a great widespread set of countries in the knock-out stages Great debut in the Olympics, I'm guessing rugby sevens is here to stay
  15. I'm sure the average Fijian would dream that to be true
  16. 10:20am there, people are probably taking a bit longer coffee break before getting back to work
  17. - Only pass backwards - Get the ball on the ground behind the line --> 5 points, kick the ball behind the posts after that --> 2 extra points Easy
  18. Sad to see the interview with Henk Grol now, who seems to be thinking about the end of his long career Especially about the change of rules since 2008, when "lifting" someone became illegal. "Basically everything I was really good at is now illegal in the rules." Not using it as an excuse by the way, not saying they changed it because of him (that would be a stupid thought), it's just a simple fact. But it's sad and has cost him so much in his career
  19. Totally in line with our swimmers and the team sprinters, they decided to have a crash in qualifying.
