Well I'm probably the only one for whom the site has been working decently but it says there are 13 medal events in shooting, countries can enter max. 2 shooters per event except for team rifle men and team rifle women...so those events exist and are the only (non mixed) team events.

I think this IOC strategy to attract teenagers can backfire badly...most 2000s kids will find (the sport of) skateboarding ridiculous in a few years' time and since a lot of those kids won't care about more traditional sports, they won't care about the Olympics at all... and then more stupid activities will be added to the Games to target the 2010s generation and so on. The IOC should try to target teenagers and make them interested in other ways, it's important to keep alive the public perception of the whole Olympics as the pinnacle of sports competition, I feel like more and more people every two years consider them as joke even without the IOC's help. Maybe skateboarding is established as an activity, but as a sport? Until a couple of years ago there were no recognized federations, no official and shared rules, even now World Skate has to come to an agreement with other organizations to be able to use a few events as olympic qualifiers...not comparable to sport climbing where a regular circuit of competitions organized by a federation has existed for many years.

There's a strong rumor that the IOC and the organizing committee would consider the reintroduction of karate if the World Karate Federation changed a few rules, there's hope because they are already thinking about: - introducing of an age limit (max. 13 years old); - officially calling the participants k-boys and k-girls, and allow them to use a stage name; - eliminating any kind of scoring system. The winner will be the k-kid with more Instagram followers but he/she will not be told before in order to have a genuine reaction during the announcement; - disqualifying anyone who is wearing a karategi of the right size.

- other home nations can participate in qualifying events and disturb the competition: Switzerland was eliminated in the WC qualifiers because Scotland won their group, not a great benefit for them; - conflict of interest can arise when two home nations play each other: England played both Wales and Scotland in the road to Tokyo...now England is much stronger than the other two but still it is weird to have situations like the game vs Wales, when the Welsh players would have eliminated themselves from the Olympics if they had won. Plus England was cleared by the other federations as representative for GB quite late during the qualification process, I think everything should be settled before the start of the qualifications in order to be fair to other teams.

Italy here is missing three of their best (two pulled out because of light injuries in the last few days), there seem to be a decent depth now so I think the team will do fine but not enough to be close to a medal. Among other teams stronger than Italy on paper imo you surely have to add Romania with 3 girls who already did well last year.
