  1. The site says DSQ but those 4 were eliminated after the pool phase, not disqualified
  2. FIBA suspended a player for being pregnant , what a disgraceful decision.
  3. China qualified with a comfortable win over Turkey. Russia, USA, Serbia are going to win later, as expected the only interesting match remaining is ITA-NED tonight.
  4. Weird, why didn't they schedule - as the last game instead of having it at 10am local time?
  5. heywoodu should print a Totallympics logo on a giant flag and bring it with him at competitions.
  6. Fencing is not part of the qualification process in any way.
  7. Venice had influence (and colonies) in the Adriatic-Ionic region, Crete, Cyprus,... Poland is quite far.
  8. Dude, you were the one who said that Italy ruled over Poland, not me.
  9. Yeah that is certainly not enough in order to say that Poland was ruled by Italy (which btw didn't exist as a political entity in that period)
  10. When did Italy rule over Poland?
  11. It's also not clear to me why the document says "maximum 3 per category" through continental representation while as MHSN said it should be maximum 2 per category. I can't think of a scenario in which there would be 3 places available in a category, even if Japan refused their host quota (which will never happen) the reallocation would be through Olympic Ranking.
  12. Where do I find the groups for water polo?
  13. Beatriz Haddad Maia (tennis) https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1082827/wimbledon-qualifier
  14. Tiro a volo, convocati per Lahti (2 carte olimpiche in palio) TRAPMASCHILE Mauro De FilippisValerio GraziniGiovanni Pellielo
  15. Just to complete the picture about predicted medal tables, here's another one: https://bestsports.com.br/bsp/homebsp.php?lang=2
  16. In general the best strategy would be two men followed by two women, everyone knows it and most teams follow that order. But for example if the USA have Lilly King who loses 6 seconds to their best male in breaststroke and Dressel who gains more than 7 seconds on their best female in butterfly, they'll obviously chose King in the breaststroke leg.
  17. It's Kenderesi. https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2019/07/28/sports/soccer/28reuters-southkorea-club.html
  18. Including relays? And Chupkov competed this morning.
  19. On the other side, one could say that the organizers should grow up and not cut a traditional sport only because they don't care about it, while other Commonwealth countries do and are pretty good at it.
  20. Here the groups are different: https://www.baseball-em.de/competitors-c86891 Group A a1: Netherlands (NED) a2: Germany (GER) a3: Czech Republic (CZE) a4: Sweden (SWE) a5: Great Britain (GBR) a6: Israel or Lithuania* Group B b1: Spain (ESP) b2: Italy (ITA) b3: Belgium (BEL) b4: France (FRA) b5: Croatia (CRO) b6: Austria (AUT)
  21. Italy had qualified in 2000 and 2004
  22. 15 athletes who wouldn't be big medal favorites will not be in Tokyo. At the Dutch NOC they must be partying hard tonight
  23. [hide] Men's Tournament - Knockout Round July 21st - July 27th, 2019 12 Nations, Play-Offs, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Third Place Match and Final Third Place Match Date & Time (GMT +9) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 July 27th 2019, h. 17:00 Croatia 5 Hungary Final Date & Time (GMT +9) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 July 27th 2019, h. 18:30 Spain 1 Italy [/hide]
  24. As usual at Gracenote they look at every single event, weigh results of competitions in that event, order competitors based on their chance, and predict gold, silver, bronze in each event. That's fine, a lot of people, newspapers, sites do that. But they should stop there instead of producing a medal table (not going to happen of course). So yeah, 12 gold medals for Japan in judo because in 12 categories they think that Japan is #1 favorite, which is not unrealistic, but of course if each one of them has a 50% chance (just an example) to win gold, then 6 gold medals would be the most likely outcome, and 12 would be as likely as 0. On the other side, countries with a lot of contenders but not many clear favourites will always be underestimated...only 6 golds for Italy would be very disappointing.
