This is something extremely rare in rhythmic gymnastics: a gymnast leaving the competition area on a stretcher. Lina Dussan apparently nearly fainted after her ball routine and could not even get up from the ground. She skipped clubs and ribbon finals.

Yup, that was FANTASTIC! And now finally has a gold medal... and in Gymnastics, of all sports! I would never expect that! Gold in women's synchronized trampoline!

The Asian Championships are underway. To no one's surprise, got their first-ever medal(s) with Carlos Yulo. I also have to say that I'm impressed with and winning medals here. It's now becoming a tradition for these nations to win medals at the continental championships! Besides, India qualified two men for the World Championships through the all-around competition and this is mighty impressive for a nation which, until a few years ago, was always fighting to climb out of the last place. It's a pity nations are now severely limited about who they can send to the World Championships. Iran had real chances of entering a World final with Keikha and Kohani, but they failed to qualify to Worlds. Bummer.

It's been a long time since I commented about the World Cup series. With and out of the picture, we now have twenty nations with medals at the World Cup/World Challenge Cup circuit. This is unprecedented! And there's still one stage to go where will host and, in history, Romania has always won medals on home soil. We shall see. The biggest surprises after my last post were: 1) Gold medal for , a country which had never earned medals before. And they got a bronze medal too. 2) Bronze medal for . This was only our second medal at the World Cup series in 39 years. 3) A bronze medal for , something I thought would not be possible even in one million years. Amazing achievement! This is even more unexpected than my previous take for "most unexpected medal at the World Cup series", the one for in 2018.

Yes, but I think that groups only became officially part of the World Cup series in late 2004. This is why Greece only earned the first medals this year. And, hey, a gold medal today! This is nothing short of extraordinary! It took nearly 2 decades to win something and now a gold medal! Amazing! Congratulations!

It's amazing how year after year the Sofia World Cup always has questionable, and sometimes downright biased results towards the hosts.

This is exactly why the FIFA ranking should matter for more than choosing which teams go to which pot in the final draw. The top 8 teams should have been assured a place in the WC Finals. I want to watch Italy versus Argentina, not Saudi Arabia versus New Zealand.
