By the time the second stage took place, many international federations had already banned RUS and BLR, but FIG withheld the suspension until March 7th. So, in my opinion, BLR and RUS should not even have participated at the WC stages this year. And do you really think "innocent" gymnasts have nothing to do with it? They represent nations, not themselves, or the FIG, or the IOC. This is not tennis, where athletes couldn't care less about their nations and are trying to make a name for themselves. This is about the nations, and has always been like that. Take Kuliak, for example, making a political statement with a Z on his leotard on the podium. Russia is crazy about gymnastics and even results at the World Cup are widely celebrated in national media, so stripping medals is a slap on the face in a way. You're free to think the athletes have nothing to do with it, but I fail to see things like this.

Many fans are asking for his medal to be stripped and for him to be banned. I support this. Actually, I support stripping every medal earned by Russian and Belarusian gymnasts this year.

I voted for Kexin. The only one who blends high difficulty and clean execution. I'm surprised so many people voted for Mustafina. She was clean, but had the most boring routines in the world and could not perform super hard skills. Her routines were basically "easy" to medium skills connected, while Kexin connected unbelievably hard skills. Even Derwael, someone who I'm really not fond of, tried much harder things. Mustafina's coach explored every breach in the code of points and it's almost unbelievable that she managed to be Olympic champion twice. This almost sounds like a seriously bad joke.

Yes, and that's it. So, don't try to justify this decision by mentioning that India is trying to help avoiding a global war. A neutral reaction right now only shows India defends its own interests and is not worried about Ukraine or peace at all.

Yeah, I'm sure global peace will be within reach because India chose to be neutral here. The "not my problem" approach is everything we need right now to avoid a global war.

Well, I understand what gymnastics is about and there is real skill involved in performing the actions. Gymnasts are not one trick ponies like many of the winter Olympics athletes are. Still, you're entitled to your opinion. So am I to mine.

Do away with the Winter Olympics; Summer Olympics every two years. Now, seriously, this is one of the least exciting sports events I could ever watch. I tried to focus on snowboarding this time, but I lost my excitement very soon, so there goes my hope of ever enjoying something, ANYTHING, out of the program. Anyway, curling, ice hockey, bobsleigh, snowboarding and speed skating should meet IOC's criteria of attracting viewers. Anything involving skiing is boring to me, but what else is there to compete at the winter Olympics? Skeleton, luge and especially ski jumping are the kind of sports I will never see the appeal. And figure skating is too full of drama, boring long programs, uninteresting skills and corrupt judges for me to care.

I am not hopeful for such a "happy" ending. They have proven time and time again they have no shame and will stop at nothing. Even though the Russian name has been denied in the title of the teams at the Olympics, they must be proud because everybody knows the athletes represent Russia and they even still have the nerve to keep sending possible dopers to the Olympics. It pains me to say that even after all these events, they will still be allowed to compete, I'm sure.

LOL. This actually sounds like "I'm glad no one listens to your demands because I'm quite happy that my demands are accounted for." Either way, it's undeniable that there needs to be a discussion about the age limit, whether we like it or not. Thankfully, both women's artistic and rhythmic gymnastics are progressively reaching a point where proposing a minimum age limit of 18 years old would not be awkward. Most of the girls who are fighting for medals are 20 to 25 years old nowadays, and the most notable exceptions are the Russians. Coincidence?

But the extra stamina might be exactly what allows the Russians to perform quads while the rest of the world cannot. I'm not taking it as a fact, but just as a theory.

Thank you. And it's baffling how many people still turn a blind eye to their abuses. I'm also disgusted by Viner in rhythmic gymnastics and the Deriuginas in Ukraine. How can people just pretend these people are not toxic or that there's nothing to discuss about them? There's even a whole MOVIE where Viner humiliates and disrespects Margarita Mamun, and she is just called a "tough" coach. It's just unbelievable.

The gold and silver medals... Ugh. It's a slap on the face. This "team" (since we can't even refer to it as nation as it was forbidden to compete under its own flag and anthem) has a girl accused of being doped (even if it's not her fault, someone is to blame). They should be banned at least from this event if proof emerges that the girl was doped. And the silver medalist was angry, spoiled, completely out of herself. She lacked composure, finesse and fair play. Absolutely nothing looks right and I don't understand how anything positive can be said about this whole situation. It's a bad thing that only gets worse and worse. Seriously, what a mess. A mess for the IOC, for the Winter Olympics and one more scandal in figure skating. This only adds fuel to my dislike for the Winter Olympics and, especially, for this sport.
