"WHAT IS GOOD TO BUY IN CZECH STORS?"
 
Does exist some typical Czech food products? Of course, let's introduce some of them!
 
BEER
Beer is probably the best-known and most popular drink not only in the Czech Republic. However, Czech brands are known all over the world, and since 2008 the name Czech beer has been protected as a geographical indication. According to Czech regulations, beer is defined as: a foamy beverage produced by fermentation of wort prepared from malt, water, unmodified hops, modified hops or hop products, which, in addition to the alcohol (ethanol) and carbon dioxide produced by the fermentation process, also contains a certain amount of unfermented extract. The Czechia has the highest consumption and production of beer per capita in the world.
The most famous Czech brands are: Pilsner Urquell, Staropramen, Gambrinus, Lobkowicz, Radegast and Budweiser Budvar.
 
KOFOLA
Kofola is a sparkling non-alcoholic drink of the cola type, which was created in 1959 in Czechoslovakia as an alternative to competing drinks Coca-Cola or Pepsi, which were unavailable at the time. After the fall of the communist regime in 1989, it competed with foreign brands that entered the newly created attractive market. Then came a period of bankruptcy and trademark litigation. Many companies produced their own "kofolas", although they had nothing to do with the original and just used an established brand. The Kofola company recovered at the beginning of the 21st century and today the drink is served on tap in almost every Czech pub. The company even produces limited flavors for each year. The strawberry flavor is currently on sale for 2022.
 
PARDUBICE GINGERBREAD
The history of Pardubice gingerbread dates back to the 15th century, and the tradition of its production is still maintained today. There are many different forms of gingerbread. They can be glued with jam, decorated with sugar icing with texts and pictures or topped with different flavors of icing. Gingerbread is also used as a confectionary material when making gingerbread houses (according to a Czech fairy tale). They are especially popular during the Christmas holidays and often people don't eat them and keep them as decoration.
 
OLOMOUC CHEESE CURDS
Olomouc cheese curds is a type of Moravian ripening cheese that is made from skimmed milk, so it has a minimal fat content. However, it is very aromatic, similar to Romadour cheese. It is produced in the village of Loštice near the city of Olomouc. They began to produce already in the 15th century. They are called Olomouc because they were sold at the markets in Olomouc. The industrial production of curds was introduced by Josef Wessels in 1876 and continues to this day. There is a pastry shop in Loštice, where they will prepare pastries made of cottage cheese - cream rolls, scarves, cakes, ice cream sundaes, etc. But they are best with bread and butter.

"DOES THE CZECH REPUBLIC HAVE ANY NATURAL TREASURES?"
 
This journey will take us to (on my opinion) the most interesting places in the Czech Republic in nature.
 
Places in map
 
Sněžka (1)
This is the highest point of the Czech Republic. It measures 1 603 metres above sea level. It's located in the Krkonoše mountains, which was formed in the Paleozoic era. That's why you won't find any pointed mountains in the Krkonoše. The Czech-Polish border runs through Sněžka. Its ascent is very popular by tourists, mailny due to the view of the sunrise.
 
 
MACOCHA (2)
It is the most well-known karst chasm. It is located in the Moravian Karst. The chasm is 138 meters deep, but there is a lake at the bottom of the chasm, which is at least another 50 meters deep. This is not the deepest chasm - it is the Hranice chasm (according to the latest measurements, it is over 400 meters deep and is one of the deepest chasms in the world).
 
PANSKÁ ROCK (3)
The unique organ-like rock is a remnant of volcanic activity in the Czech Republic. It is made of basalt, which was formed into prisms. Geologists say the rock may be 30 million years old.
 
 
SOOS MUD VOLCANOES (4)
This is a nature reserve that protects mud volcanoes. Carbon dioxide constantly bubbles up from the marshes, which is evidence of the active activity of the geological subsoil.
 
 
PRAVČICE GATE (5)
One of the largest sandstone gates is located in the north of Bohemia in the National Park Czech Switzerland. This summer, the national park was affected by an extensive fire, which also significantly
threatened the Pravčice Gate. Fortunately, she survived.
 
POWDER ROCKS (6)
It is an extensive rock town with three tourist routes. The rocks were formed in the Mesozoic period and are made of sandstone.
 
 
ADRŠPACH-TEPLICE ROCKS (7)
This rock city is more extensive and also more visited than the Powder rocks. The rock city is mainly known for its iconic rocks with names such as "Mayor and Mayoress" or "Lovers".
 
 
KRÁLICKÝ SNĚŽNÍK (8)
Hydrologically important point of Central Europe. This hill divides the territory into three seas: the Baltic, North and Black Seas. The Czech-Polish border runs through the mountain.
 
 
BOHEMIAN CENTRAL MIDLANDS (9)
Geologically the youngest mountain range in the Czech Republic formed by extinct volcanoes, which are mostly isolated in the landscape. The river Elbe flows through the landscape, the highest point is Mount Milešovka (837 m above sea level), which is considered the windiest place in the Czech Republic.
 
 
MUMLAVA WATERFALL (10)
It is not very tall in terms of height, but it is frequently visited. It has a height of 12 m. The sound of the waterfall is very soothing.
 
 
BOUBÍN FOREST (11)
It is the most famous primeval forest in the Czech Republic. It is an area that is off-limits to tourists and foresters do not improve it in any way. There are trees up to 500 years old.

Song Duration
 
For today's random statistical analysis, we will take a look at the duration of TISC entries. Specifically, we will focus on the relationship between various national juries and the duration of songs which tend to score points from these juries. Which juries prefer quick action, and which juries like a good-old slow burn?
 
3 minutes and 56 seconds
Following the completion of the 2022 Annual, a total of 656 songs have been presented on the TISC stage. Duration of these 656 songs varies a great deal, but it all averages out at just above 3 minutes and 56 seconds per song. Unlike the Eurovision Song Contest, there are no time limits to be found in the TISC rulebook. It is interesting, however, that the adopted average after the first 18 editions stands at almost exactly a minute longer than the Eurovision limit.
 
Mi Pais vs Kelmti Horra (for now)
The shortest song entered so far has been Uruguay's Mi Pais. Taking just 115 seconds, it is indeed the only sub 2 minutes entry presented to date. Too short for some? Perhaps. Mi Pais placed 29th at the 2017 Open with 32 points.
 

 
On the other side of the spectrum, we find Kelmti Horra representing Tunisia. Taking 6 minutes and 45 seconds (!), it can undoubtedly be classified in the epic category. Kelmti Horra scored 71 points to finish 16th at the 2016 Open. This record is set to be broken this week in Czechia however, as Egypt's 180° takes up a whopping 7 minutes and 19 seconds (excluding intro/outro).
 

 
Finally, who is the Average Joe of the TISC? Well, there have been exactly five songs to date with a duration of 3:56 - Jaadagi Nii (EST, 2014 Open), Geboren um zu Leben (GER, 2014 Open), Crazy For You (CAN, 2015 Annual), Onaj Dan (CRO, 2017 Annual) and most recently Pelan-Pelan Saja (INA, 2019 Open).
 
Song Duration Sweetspot
Today, we would like to focus on finding the song duration sweetspot for every jury. For this purpose, we took a look at the voting history of each jury and calculated the average duration of all songs which have scored points from the said jury. We used the weighted average, so for example, duration of the songs which were awarded 12 points hold 12 times more weight than duration of the songs which were awarded 1 point, and so on.
 
Short and Sweet
So we have crunched the numbers and the observation is as follows. Voting records show that the Venezuelan jury prefers short songs the most with a weighted average of just 3:30. If your entry for the 2022 Open clocks over 4 minutes, then maybe don't expect much from Venezuela. Out of 24 songs which have received points from Venezuela so far, only two clock at over 4 minutes and none goes beyond 5 minutes. Pretty extraordinary, given that the all-time average duration of TISC entries is very nearly 4 minutes exactly. Ironically, Venezuela itself tends to enter fairly long songs into the contests. Their shortest one to date - Sin Ti, 2019 Annual - still clocks at eyebrow-raising 4:57, while the other two (No Te Vas, 2018 Annual and Es Epico, 2022 Open) both go well over 5 minutes! Practice what you preach?
 
Other juries which are statistically most likely to reward shorter songs are Ukraine, Uruguay, Norway, Iran, Indonesia, Spain, Bulgaria, Lebanon. Ukraine should be noted as the jury who statistically awards medals to the shortest songs. Average duration of their medal picks stands at just 3:25.
 
Going the Distance
On the other side of the spectrum, we find Morocco. And Morocco likes it long, very long. Their weighted average stands at whopping 4:16, and the medal picks average at 4:35! 3 out of 5 Morocco's gold medal picks to date clock over 5 minutes, including two winners - Zombie (2014 Open) and Song About Love (2015 Open).
 
Other juries which are statistically most likely to reward longer songs are Guyana, Vietnam, Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, Egypt, Turkey, Chile, Azerbaijan.
 
Below you can find a table with juries grouped around their weighted average ("sweetspot song duration"). Only the juries taking part in this edition are included. It comes as no surprise that most juries are grouped around the average song duration of 3:56 (even if only Croatia hits that mark exactly). There are pockets of juries to be found around 10 seconds or more away from 3:56. On the shorter side - INA, BUL, ESP, IND, ISR, SLO; and on the longer side - CHI, TUR, EGY, IRL, HUN, DEN, VIE. As outlined above, Venezuela and Ukraine are by far the biggest outliers.
