  1. Yeah, I imagine The Avengers are usually linked to modern superhero movies but British crime/spy shows of the 60s/70s were a lot better than these computer-generated gimmicks. And I suppose you didn't follow the James Bond franchise either, after all Diana Rigg was like the only woman character who married Bond during its run. I also remember her from 'Evil Under the Sun' - the 1982 Ustinov version.
  2. I'm in for the sport, not a national anthem (which isn't even mine ) or clothes. Chiefs beat Texans 34-20. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will get plenty of OROY buzz given how the rookie QBs will presumably struggle without OTAs (and the fact only Joe Burrow will probably play 16 games in the defensively toughest division of the lot).
  3. Sex always sells. Even when the 'sex' is focused on underage Muslim lolitas Vladimir Nabokov would be proud of this stunt!
  4. Who cares about the Game of Thrones? The Avengers were much better Very much the best of Diana Rigg.
  5. I'm not into Mexican politics, isn't Telmex big enough that anyone in political power considers them acceptable? I mean, you're not driving the drug cartels out of business so what's the point of making more enemies?
  6. Yeah, I know Telmex has pulled the plug on some other racing committements in the last few years but it's still F1. If Perez is dropped from the grid I suppose the Mexican Grand Prix would in grave danger to be dropped as well?
  7. Jimmie Johnson is set to move into IndyCars for two years with Ganassi (non-oval races).
  8. Yeah, it seems like Vettel is well on his way to join Racing Point next season then. As for Perez, well, I wonder what Williams does? Can the Mexican backers (Telmex) outbid Latifi?
  9. Utterly ridiculous. 'Ben Hur', 'Braveheart' or 'Titanic' would never win an Academy Award based on these criteria
  10. Cowboys in NFC Championship Game? I don't think so I'm pretty sure Jets will have more wins than Jaguars
  11. Huh? Mladenovic got busted but US Open actually is still being played? The Games will go ahead because cancelling them will lose Japan more money than hosting them with limited audience and/or some top names in few events missing (presumably if they withdraw due to COVID fear). Golfers used the zika excuse to bail out on Rio and nobody dwells on that anymore. I bet most athletes would like to pursue their Olympic dreams even if they have to be quarantined for a month after the competition is over. The Olympic village will probably look different but that's the only realistic change to be expected. Some athletes that compete in the second week don't arrive on scene until the Games are well underway anyway.
  12. I remember when Richard Gere used to complain he was blacklisted by the major Hollywood studios because of his support of Dalai Lama. How much influence do the Chinese have in Hollywood these days? Even the left-wing Hollywood is happy to boycott China but not their money?
  13. @Olympian1010 Yeah, male players make money in their clubs not from their country FA tbh. This is like those NBA players, they make money from the clubs and the league itself, not for playing for 'Dream Teams'. Hell, most top US basketball players don't even want to represent their country anymore. Women's club football is only moving up but that's still long off the men's game and it will never reach that status tbh. @Gianlu33 Meanwhile Arkadiusz Milik wants to stay in Serie A. His Napoli tenure is over but he rejected an offer from RB Leipzig and apparently Roma and Fiorentina have shown interest in signing him.
  14. Well, I'm gonna make the QF picks only then since I see everyone is okay with the changes to the format However changing the predicted Top 3 from the original sheet really doesn't make sense at this stage?
  15. Pironkova wins 6-3 in the third. Williams up next. I suppose the American audience will be shocked to hear Serena isn't the only mother on tour
  16. Cornet wins 7-6. I exect the third set to end 7-5 or 7-6 too. There's always drama with Cornet...
  17. She's a Russian born in Moscow with US citizenship. As late as 2019 she was still speaking Russian during the coaching breaks. No way US public & marketing gurus get behind such a player. Anisimova has the same problem. That's why USTA and ESPN hypes Cori Gauff who doesn't have a single trace of Russian DNA. There's a major anti-Russian bias in USA right now so there's absolutely no way Kenin ever becomes the true US #1 in media presence.
  18. Yeah, I made my point on cheating before. I think there should be only one deadline when the event actually starts (like in Athletics championships). Obviously in team events there is the round robin and knockout phase. Grand Slam tennis draws are huge and it must have taken a lot of time to complete the sheets but maybe doing both WTA and ATP proved too much for one person. This is a special year but the Predictions Contests were fun and didn't have to be altered with anything new. You don't need to fix something that isn't broken. It bugs me since tennis is one of my favorite sports and I've been taking part in predictions sports I'm not an expert like waterpolo and never thought of losing fun but in-competition edits takes away all the fun for me. There were people who said they refused to take part is USO predictions based on the huge draws. I wonder if Roland Garros will be done in Predictions too?
  19. Then post fresh sections every second day for each round like in the Champions League/UEFA League competition. If you post the entire draw and allow in-competition edits it's simply unfair IMO. In future games I'll have to ask if edits will be allowed and if they indeed are then I'll just won't take part since I don't like this concept at all. There's no fun in finding excuses to allow edits just because some big name went out. Just a horrible idea all around @Wumo
  20. Yeah, pretty much. Intent doesn't matter. And here I was thinking that an Italian would fancy Berrettini's chances better now
  21. Loss by DQ is still a loss just like in boxing. This is a fixed draw, even if you discount Djokovic vs Carreno Busta I have a funky feeling zero people picked CB to win so everyone gets zero points anyway. Allowing edits in the middle of the game is downright unfair just to make up for the favorite having the nerve NOT to win an event. I don't recall edits being allowed when Bolt got injured in the World Champs and the Jamaican relay didn't win a medal everyone thought they would?
  22. You wanted to say Fuck You ITF? ATP doesn't organize the Grand Slams
  23. https://www.itftennis.com/media/2495/grand-slam-rulebook-2020-f.pdf Page 46 - Section Q (Physical Abuse).
  24. This makes no sense? I realize Djokovic was the run away favorite to win USO but since when every #1 favorite has to win all the Prediction game? I'm totally against allowing edits just because the favorites doesn't win What's the point of these prediction games anyway? I don't recall edits being allowed when Germany went out in group stage of the last World Cup?
  25. Shapovalov got DQ for this lunacy as well.
