Last weekend, the Seven de Punta del Este was held in Uruguay. This weekend, the Seven de Viña del Mar is being held in Chile. The top South American team outside Argentina (Chile) qualified to the Vancouver Sevens and Las Vegas Sevens. Chlie and another team will qualify to the Hong Kong Sevens qualifier.

At 7 pm eastern, the Clemson Tigers (11-0) will play the South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Oklahoma Sooners (11-1) will play the West Virginia Mountaineers. At 8 pm, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-0) will play the USC Trojans.

Uruguay defeated Romania 27-20 for the first time ever.

After getting crushed by Fiji 68-7, Uruguay's national rugby team defeated Romania 27-20, our first win ever against them.

At the Fifa Under-17 Women's World Cup, Uruguay lost 5-0 to Ghana, lost 2-1 to New Zealand, and drew 1-1 to Finlad, so they didn't advance to quarter finals.  I haven't attended any match yet.

Next weekend there will be a Premier Boxing Champions doubleheader. In Quebec, Adonis Stevenson and Oleksandr Gvozdyk will fight for the WBC light heavyweight title. In the undercard, our Chris Namús and their Marie-Eve Dicaire will fight for the IBF women's super welterweight title. In Los Angeles, Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury will fight for the WBC heavyweight title. In the undercard, Jarrett Hurd and Jason Welborn will fight for the WBA, IBF and IBO light middleweight title; Luis Ortiz will fight Travis Kauffman; and Julio César Chávez Jr will fight Alfredo Angulo.

Men's beach handball: 8 losses and 1 win versus Mauritius to finish 10th / 12. Sailing: Coll / Regusci scored a 5th place as best results and rank 11th out of 14 before the medal race. Swimming: 50m breaststroke Saint-Upery scored 28.47s in qualifying (setting a new under-18 national record), and 28.76s in the semis to finish 9th. 100m breaststroke: he scored 1'03.55 (improving his under-18 national record) and finished 15th.

Except Brazil and Argentina, South American national teams don't play often. There should play home and away along the year, like FIBA Americas does now.
