  1. There are still few wild cards left. They should get it.
  2. So far we had 11 male athlete and 0 female athletes withdrawing.
  3. It's interesting that real powerhouses like USA, China and Russia never refuse any quota they get. Only those wannabe countries like Netherlands and New Zealand do that.
  4. Added women's boxing. Panama becomes the first nation with three wild cards.
  5. Boxing tripartite in women's categories are out! Women's -51kg - Central African Republic Women's -60kg - Federated States of Micronesia Women's -75kg - Panama http://www.aiba.org/blog/rio-2016-olympic-games-tripartite-commission-designates-women-boxing-quota-places-central-african-republic-federated-states-micronesia-panama/
  6. http://www.intjudo.eu/News/cikk3913 IJF interestingly says that 136 countries will compete (including wild card nations), but they don't say who got the wild cards. All they say is that 114 countries qualified, 20 received wild cards, and there is a Refugee team + an extra athlete from Syria. That's how we finish on 136 countries.
  7. Ok, now you can bring back Namibia to women's cross-country list.
  8. ISAF finally published the updated list... http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/2016QualifiedNationsMNAconfirmationfromallevents28.06.16-[20886].pdf All quota are confirmed now, except Austria's in 49er FX that is yet to be confirmed. Latvia and Chinese Taipei are the new qualified nations.
  9. After the disqualification of positive lifters they dropped from 5 to 4 quotas. They lost 2 more quotas based on the decision of IWF so they'll have 2.

  11. Continueing with a nice coverage of eventing from Los Angeles in 1984.
  12. Franklin interestingly had much faster time in the heats (along with Coughlin).
  13. Australia has finalised their jumping team. James Paterson-Robinson (Amarillo) Matt Williams (Valinski) They join the previously selected Scott Keach and Edwina Tops-Alexander. Australia has also published the selection ranking for their dressage team. According to selection policy, the top 4 will be selected. Actually, top 5 athletes as 61-year old Mary Hanna can't compete on two horses. Actually, Mary Hanna (1954) should be the oldest female athlete in Rio. Anyway, she was the oldest back in 2012 so you'd think she'll repeat that.
  14. Yes, looks like that's the case here.
  15. She had three refusals over cross-country in Strzegom, what resulted in elimination from that competition. That was her last chance to get selected. Swiss selectors apparently wanted to see a cross-country round with no refusals.
  16. Sadly I can. I was looking forward to see the Swiss team, but looks like Melody Johner failed to get selected... Meaning that there will be no Swiss team, but only two individuals presumably...
  17. Why Netherlands of all nations? Anyway, congrats Iceland. Who knows, maybe we can expect some Icelandic user to join soon?
  18. USA dressage team has been named. Allison Brock (Rosevelt) Laura Graves (Verdades) Kasey Perry-Glass (Dublet) Steffen Peters (Legolas) Shelly Francis and Doktor are reserves. Love this team!
  19. Australia declined women's 49er FX quota, it's official now. http://www.sailing.org.au/australian-sailing-statement-olympic-nomination-appeal-court-arbitration-sport-dismissed/ Croatia is next in line, but we will decline it because of the injury apparently. We don't even have luck when we receive reallocation. Austria is next in line.
  20. General Indonesia will win more medals than Malaysia. At least two nations will win their first medals after an Olympic medal drought that lasted at least 20 years. Germany will finish ahead of France on the medal table. Cycling - track Australia will win both team pursuit events. There will be at least one crash in the points races during the omnium competitions. Diving At least three nations will win a gold medal. Equestrian At least five horses will not pass the vet inspection after the cross-country phase of eventing competition. At least one horse will freak out and get eliminated in the dressage competition. Football At least three red cards will be awarded. Golf The eventual winner of the men's competition will not be in the top 5 places after the first day.
  21. Tandem sprint looks like quite a dangerous event though.
  22. Apparently, Romanian C2 crew tested positive for doping at the European qualifications. Moldova receives the quota now. Confirmed by Moldovan NOC. http://olympic.md/moldova-a-obtinut-calificarea-olimpica-la-canoe-dublu/
