  1. I'm so happy to announce that UCI has updated the qualification list. Netherlands declined one of the male quotas, Sweden declined it's men's quota while New Zealand and South Africa declined the women's quota... Quotas went to Great Britain in men's (next best nation) and Namibia in women's (next best from Africa). The other two quotas went to tripartite commission which awarded quotas to Lesotho (men's) and Timor-Leste (women's).
  2. Liechtenstein NOC has confirmed their Rio 2016 team. Just 3 athletes are going to compete. They applied for two more wild cards (in judo and archery) but didn't get them sadly. Also their marathon runner failed to reach the standard set by Swimming Julia Hassler Christoph Meier Tennis Stephanie Vogt
  3. Australia Dressage Team Mary Hanna (Boogie Woogie) Kelly Layne (Udon) Kristy Oatley (Du Soleil) Lyndal Oatley (Sandro Boy) Hanna will become the oldest Australian Olympian at age of 61.
  4. You could have bid for TISC Annual 2015 but you didn't and Slovakia got it.
  5. Can anyone who voted for A or B on first question explain to me what is such a huge difference between songs from 2011 and songs from 2012? By current rules, songs from 2011 are allowed while those from 2012 are not.
  6. My prediction is Brecciaroli, Panizzon, Ugolotti and Pietro Roman. Let's see how close I get.
  7. Well this is disaster. We might have had a small chance for something in men's doubles but that's gone with Dodig not participating (for whatever reason). Moreover, both our Olympic committee and tennis federation said NOTHING regarding Olympic qualification in the past month. I would have to be a masochist to still cheer for them...
  8. Switzerland chose Road race: Michael Albasini, Fabian Cancellara, Steve Morabito, Sebastien Reichenbach Time trial: Fabian Cancellara Their female representative was announced earlier and it will be Jolanda Neff.
  9. Don't particulary care about this sport, but why is Dodig missing??
  10. Switzerland has confirmed their eventing team. Ben Vogg Felix Vogg They are brothers of course, and their grandfather was also an Olympian back in 1956 (Roland Perret). This confirms Poland's quota, but it doesn't confirm Italy's alleged 4th quota. It seems next to impossible that Italy received that quota...
  11. Great, we might see 10 sleds competing at few World Cups in women's event!
  12. Question 1: C Question 2: A Although I agree that there should be a difference between annual contest and open contest, I don't think 5-year hole is a good solution. Why not simply have annual contest for new songs and open contest for all other songs? For example this year we had annual contest for songs published after 1st January 2015 while in open contest we have songs published before that date. Imagine that an user really likes one song from 2014, but he/she can't enter it because of this rule and they have to wait for 3 years to do that. Where are we going to be in 3 years... Anyway, seems fair that songs from every year should be allowed to enter in one TISC season. As for question 2, although I would like to host it I think winners should have priority.
  13. Canoeing from 1972. Those canoe slalom boats looks so heavy.
  14. At least they didn't take his horses!
  15. USA jumping team has been selected. Lucy Davis (Barron) Kent Farrington (Voyeur) Beezie Madden (Cortes 'C') McLain Ward (Azur) Laura Kraut and Zeremonie are the reserves. I'm surprised that Lucy Davis and Barron got selected again, not the most reliable combination in the World.
  16. Well, maybe. Though NZOC also didn't know about her age as they initially thought that Mark Todd will become the oldest Kiwi Olympian (while Brougham is older).
  17. Okay, this is a bit weird. Julie Brougham, who got selected to represent New Zealand in dressage, lied about her age. Her FEI profile was saying that she was born in 80s while in reality she is a 62-year old woman. http://olympic.org.nz/news/brougham-knocks-todd-from-top-spot/
  18. That is one big blow for the team GB.
  19. But that was Coubertin's idea... Anyway, it's just cruel to deny your athletes from Olympics participation. Like: "They can participate at World championships, continental championships, but Olympics are forbidden, because we want to look very successful." Coubertin would ban such nations from the Olympics.
  20. Don't worry, Fiji is guaranteed four more quotas (athletics + swimming). And Slovakia?
  21. FEI didn't publish anything. No idea how Italy got that quota... Unless Switzerland went completely crazy and refused all of their quotas as Italy was only the 3rd reserve (behind Poland and Belarus)...
  22. Wow, we won both men's and women's 3 positions events in Baku! Way to go Petar and Snježana!
