  1. I can help with miscellaneous mainly (some sports) + cycling I guess. I can also help to choose events for miscellaneous.
  2. Today we got 8th place in women's junior trap European Championships. And with a solid qualification score of 63. Maybe the start of something nice.
  3. Vanuatu and Zambia have received two of the wild cards in men's boxing. Vanuatu http://dailypost.vu/vanuatu_sports/mahit-and-warawara-confirmed-for-rio-olympics/article_bc9d5811-5abf-5b41-94f0-a00b67040f21.html Zambia http://allafrica.com/stories/201606230125.html
  4. Medal ceremony also outside of stadium, why? I imagine that stadium spectators are not happy.
  5. It wasn't useless as Ukraine qualified. And to be fair Ireland has a better team than the Czechs.
  6. She is obviously preparing to break Flo Jo's 200m record next month.
  7. It's on Wikipedia (source). http://www.andorradifusio.ad/Esports/laura-salles-anira-als-jocs-olimpics-de-rio#.V219HpPxdvw
  8. What's with Egle Balciunaite? 2:08 today, and apparently 2:07 SB this year. Will she be going to Rio?
  9. Lol, what about our team then. Defending medalist Šimić didn't even make the final.
  10. Medal for Norway! Like in old days when Norway used to be great in women's distance events.
  11. We have a possible scandal now. Well it is a bit of a scandl already. Alexander Onishchenko, rich Ukrainian who has been investing in that international "Ukrainian" jumping team has been accused for corruption in Ukraine. Apparently, he sold no less than 44 horses after that. It is not known for sure, but it is possible that all Ukrainian horses from Olympic long list have been sold (all of them were owned by Onishchenko). If true, that would make them ineligible to compete at the Olympics. If that happens then it will be Ireland that gets the team quota. http://www.worldofshowjumping.com/en/News/Paul-Schockemoehle-buys-44-horses-from-Alexander-Onischenko.html
  12. Ah, yes, looks like I mixed things up.
  13. It will be per discipline like in 2012.
  14. Her BIB says otherwise.
  15. She should be in too, as there are no more than 2 potential swimmers with OST ahead of her.
  16. Well, that would be strange. In 2012, some 8 swimmers were invited per event. And this time it seems like some bigger nations will have less athletes due to hard standards (like France or South Africa who for example won't be sending any female swimmer to the pool).
  17. Probably not a tough neighbourhood then.
  18. I met this fellow in my backyard this morning.
  19. Well, some of our athletes won't be in Rio for the Opening. That's why Sandra Perković for example couldn't have been chosen for a flag bearer.
  20. I don't know, but maybe he wouldn't be there if they didn't have wind information. This reminded me of another puzzle. According to road-to-rio, Brandon Valentine-Parris qualified with 45.39 in 400m. But, according to his IAAF profile his PB is 47.27 (from 2014, no results listed from 2015 or 2016). Meanwhile, all-athletics site says that his PB is 46.11 from this year. It's a mess.
  21. Maybe they won't be in Rio for the Opening? Anyway, sprint canoeing is late in the program.
  22. 15 athletes so far in final of discus, as the qualifying mark of 58m was way too easy.
  23. Armenia continues to be an expert in making bogus Olympic standards. Their athlete Khubeseryan apparently ran 23.18 last month, what was enough to qualify for Rio. Here today she ran 25.56 (and she did not look injured). Back in 2012 for example they qualified two male long jumpers (both of whom jumped exactly 8.20, what was an A standard). Let's just say that their results in London (or after that) weren't in that zone.
