The 3x3 World Cup is going on, Canada is competing with a women's team. We won our first two matches against Chile and Israel. Next up are the relatively harder opponents of Spain and the Netherlands. Even if we lose to them we should advance to the next round.

Actually looking at the document again it looks like you can't compete with a second athlete in the omnium, but you can qualify an 8th athlete there. The event will just have fewer than 22 competitors then.

Quite surprise in Wog's performance in the 200m breast. I have a feeling we may finish fourth in the 4x200m free relay, adding Penny (who will have just finished the 100m free semis) and Summer may not be enough to close in the gap.

Some notable difference relative to 2020 BMX racing now has continental quotas Road cycling no longer allows individuals to qualify via the world rankings, also the nations ranking quotas have changed to match the updated quota distribution. Track cycling has the quota distribution for the long distance events differing. Also it looks like NOCs can have two athletes in the Omnium compete.

I like it too. My issue with the mixed relay for athletics and swimming at the Olympics is that they already have split events. You can have one or the other, but not both.

The Canada vs. Iran match will be important for us. That 11th world ranking spot will be very important for Olympic qualification. Unless Russia gets banned for 2024 then 12th will be fine.

Despite taking the lead twice, we ended up drawing the United States. While second place is still possible, it would take Cuba defeating the United States and for us to utterly crush to pull it off.

Besides the relay (which looked like we didn't care too much about), it was a successful morning session, hopefully that continues with the evening session.

She didn't have a good national trials. Hopefully the cut in funding won't discourage her too much and that she'll compete in at least the Americas Championships.

Not 100% sure for Japan, but China declined due to COVID restrictions. Not sure why they only declined for water polo and not the other events.

The women's tournament is really missing and (I guess Japan too). Already a bunch of 20+ goal victories on the first day of competition.
