  1. Yeah, he got traded back to the Krakken. Wasn’t fitting in with the Canucks’ system.
  2. Bello/Bello upset Mol/Sørum in 3 during the semifinals of the Rio Elite 16 Props to the Bello brothers though, they played like a top five team in the world. Just on another level today. Joaquin tallied up 10 blocks during this match, guy was a wall at the net.
  3. April Ross and Alix Klineman (beach volleyball) Ross won medals at three consecutive Olympics, silver at London 2012, bronze at Rio 2016, and gold at Tokyo 2020 alongside Klineman. She also won three World Championships medals with gold at Stavanger 2009, silver at Vienna 2017, and gold at Hamburg 2019 (also with Klineman)
  4. Not my typical Canucks update, but thought this should be shared… Winnipeg Jets are off to the best start in NHL history, 14-1-0 in their first 15 games Incredible stuff.

  6. Plavins/Fokerots upset Åhman/Hellvig in the Rio Elite 16 quarterfinals
  7. Denis Shapovalov wins the Belgrade ATP 250 title, his second career title and first in five years, after defeating Medjedovic 6-4, 6-4!
  8. GSOC Co-Op Canadian Open Quarterfinals Men Mouat v. Dunstone Gushue v. Edin Schwaller v. Jacobs Retornaz v. Whyte Women Homan v. Einarson Fujisawa v. Ha Constantini v. Tirinzoni Carey v. Kim Korean Olympic Trials are going to be very interesting, I could see any one of Kim, Gim, and Ha being their representative. Fujisawa has some solid competition too.
  9. Ágatha Bednarczuk (beach volleyball) Rio 2016 Olympic silver and Netherlands 2015 World Championships gold alongside Barbara Seixas.
  10. And they’ve done it, WTA Finals Champions! Dabrowski/Routliffe get it done in Ridyah, defeating Siniakova/Townsend 7-5, 6-3! Siniakova/Townsend were well off the level they showed all tournament long, but you can only beat the team put in front of you. History, as it’s the first WTA Finals title for a Canadian!
  11. Not anymore
  12. Lucas Van Berkel (volleyball) https://www.instagram.com/p/C-5MKkLpmh8/?igsh=aHViODZqNmo2bGk=
  13. Gaby Dabrowski and her partner Erin Routliffe defeated Krawczyk/Dolehide 4-6, 6-3, [10-6] to advance to the semifinals at the WTA Finals with a perfect 3-0 record! 34 winners to 14 UE’s
  14. Was completely unaware that it was even going on (thankfully I didn’t, because we were dogshit and they embarrassed us badly), but our women’s team just took on United States in match #1 of the rivalry series and lost 7-2?
  15. Rachael Gunn, or more infamously known as “Raygun” (breaking) Never thought I’d be happy posting a reply on the “Athletes Retirement” thread but thank god…
  16. Alix Klineman has also announced her retirement following the conclusion of the AVP League https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB9CZwrPfqj/?igsh=MTZiaDk0NndmaTAzcQ== What a sad year for beach volleyball, with Brouwer, Meeuwsen, Ludwig, Bobner, Pavan, and now these two retiring.

  19. 6 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze for overall
  20. Gold for our men’s 5000m relay at week two of the Montreal WC! Yet again, it wasn’t even close. Complete dominance
  21. Haven’t done an update on my dad since mid July, so thought I’d share. He ended up getting out of the hospital a couple days before the Olympics, and has generally been getting better the past couple of months. Unfortunately, the past couple of days he’s been really sick, and was vomiting for much of yesterday. He was taken to the hospital last night, and is expected to be there for at least a couple of days. Just sucks to see him struggling this much, hoping for as speedy of a recovery as possible
  22. Marc Gagnon doing wonders to our team. Montreal Stop #1: 3 golds, 1 silver, 2 bronze Montreal Stop #2: 5 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze ETA; make that 6 GOLDS. Obviously, I’ll wait until the non-Canadian stops before drawing to conclusions because home-crowd is usually a big factor but our short track program is looking good
  23. Gold for William Dandjinou and bronze for Jordan Pierre-Gilles in the men’s 1000m!
  24. Completely forgot that that was even an event Thanks for mentioning it
