  1. Two of my favourite teams playing in the women’s final, rooting for Homan but mainly hoping for a great game
  2. Big Air WC Beijing | Beijing, China Men Gold- Hiroto Ogiwara (169.50) Silver- Ian Matteoli (165.50) Bronze- Yang Wenlong (159.25) Wenlong with his first career WC podium! Pretty surprising to see all of the favourites finish in the bottom three positions Women Gold- Mia Brookes (179.75) Silver- Mari Fukada (176.75) Bronze- Anna Gasser (169.00) Brookes with her first career WC victory?!? Had to double check, because that statistic didn’t seem right at first. Full Results
  3. Bronze for Isabelle Weidemann in the women’s 3000m and silver for Valerie Maltais in the women’s mass start at the ISU Beijing WC! Blondin was DQ’d in the mass start FYI.
  4. Schulting with her first career WC podium in speed skating, with silver in the 2nd 500m!
  5. Parallel Slalom WC Mylin | Mylin, China Men Gold- Maurizio Bormolini Silver- Benjamin Karl Bronze- Gabriel Messner Women Gold- Sabine Payer Silver- Miki Tsubaki Bronze- Julie Zogg Full Results
  6. And Gaudet eliminates Prommeger immediately after!
  7. Pink takes down the ever consistent Lee by 0.03
  8. Big Air WC Beijing | Beijing, China Women Gold- Tess Ledeux (168.25) Silver- Sarah Hoefflin (163.00) Bronze- Flora Tabanelli (159.50) Men Gold- Leo Landroe (183.00) Silver- Miro Tabanelli (182.25) Bronze- Dylan Deschamps (181.00) A great day for the Tabanelli siblings, with both of them on the podium! Full Results
  9. Bronze for Dylan Deschamps in men’s big air at the Beijing WC. Honestly not quite sure how to feel about it… Harrington had a higher combined score than him and tied for the lead at 183.00 and yet somehow finished in 4th?
  10. 91.75 + 92.25 is 183.00, is it not?? Harrington should be tied for the lead alongside Frostad, and not 4th? WTF, I’m so confused…
  11. I’ll start first; Obviously, @brunamoura in cross country skiing if she qualifies (no pressure) and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. Curling: Team Hasselborg and Team Edin, Kaldvee/Lill, and to a lesser extent Team Fujisawa and Team Schwaller Ice Hockey: Elias Pettersson/Elias Lindholm, Pius Suter, Arturs Silovs/Teddy Blueger, whichever Canucks are on United States’ men’s team, Filip Hronek and Finland’s men’s team if Lankinen can keep up his good play (Even though he’s probably going to get traded from the Canucks after this season, he prefers being on a team where he can get more starts than more money. Still I have a soft spot for him) Alpine Skiing: Marco Odermatt, Aleksandr Aamodt Kilde, AJ Ginnis, and to a slightly lesser extent Johannes Strolz Freestyle Skiing: Jakara Anthony, Birk Ruud, Sina Sigenthaler, Ryan Regez, Kelly Sildaru (for more reasons than one), Eileen Gu Snowboarding: Leon Ulbricht, Marcus Kleveland, Anna Gasser, Benjamin Karl, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott Ski Mountaineering: Oriol Cardona Coll and that’s it for now… Speed Skating: Jutta Leerdam, Jordan Stolz, Marten Liiv, Bart Swings Luge: Thomas Steu/Wolfgang Kindl, Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt From a Canadian perspective, I’m rooting for our men’s hockey team above all. Then, our curling teams, especially Team Homan if she wins Olympic Trials. Then Max Parrot, Mikael Kingsbury, Eliot Grondin, William Dandjinou, our women’s hockey team, and our ski cross squad. But really I’ll be rooting for all of our athletes. I like Hammerle, but I’ll be rooting against him at the Olympics
  12. Decided to start a thread on this early, and get some discussion When I mean athletes, I mean athletes from other countries mainly… but ones that represent your country work too
  13. Luge WC Eberspächer Lillehammer | Lillehammer, Norway Women’s Singles Gold- Julia Taubitz (1:33.898) Silver- Emily Sweeney (1:33.990) Bronze- Lisa Schulte (1:34.050) Women’s Doubles Gold- Chevonne Chelsea Forgan/Sophia Kirkby (1:34.929) Silver- Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal (1:34.946) Bronze- Marta Robezniece/Kitija Bogdanova (1:35.419) Men’s Doubles Gold- Toni Eggert/Florian Mueller (1:33.846) Silver- Martins Bots/Roberts Plume (1:33.978) Bronze- Thomas Steu/Wolfgang Kindl (1:34.070) Full Results
  14. Moguls WC Ruka | Ruka, Finland Women Gold- Perrine Laffont (81.13) Silver- Jakara Anthony (80.00) Bronze- Olivia Giacco (76.95) Laffont victorious in her return to competition, after taking a break last season! Maia Schwinghammer with a career best moguls finish in 4th Men Gold- Mikael Kingsbury (83.90) Silver- Walter Wallberg (81.14) Bronze- Ikuma Horishima (80.51) Kingsbury now with his 100th career victory! (thanks @Gianlu33 for the stat) Full Results
  15. GSOC Kioti National Semifinals Men Mouat v. McEwen Jacobs v. Whyte Women Einarson v. Hasselborg Homan v. Kim
  16. I disagree, the Christiansen hit on Kuzmenko was as clean as can be, why would you try to start a fight after that? Honestly, I find it a little pathetic and soft from Pospisil, but maybe that’s just me…
  17. Mikael Kingsbury with WC victory #91, really starting to close in on 100, with gold in moguls at the Ruka WC! Edit: Also, a 4th for Maia Schwinghammer. Best ever WC result in moguls for her.
  18. I think you’re confusing him with Shiffrin, who’s one win away from 100 career WC wins. Kingsbury has 91 now
  19. Parallel Giant Slalom WC Mylin | Mylin, China Men Gold- Edwin Coratti Silver- Kim Sangkyum Bronze- Lee Sangho Women Gold- Ester Ledecka Silver- Aleksandra Krol-Walas Bronze- Miki Tsubaki Full Results
  20. I think she’ll get top 6, but no podium. With the amount of medal contenders that we have, there’s gonna be some disappointments (In Beijing we had Kingsbury in moguls even with the silver, Dubreuil in the 500m, men’s ski cross, curling, and our men’s hockey team as the main ones)
