I've worked on a vey simple prediction/points table based only on final entries of individual events (relays not being counted) : 5 points for the top ranked athletes, 4 points for the second, etc.

  1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th   Points
FRA 3 6 9 4 3   77
GBR 6 3 3 4 2   61
ITA 2 3 7 6 5   60
GER 0 3 6 3 8   44
ESP 4 3 1 2 4   43
NOR 3 3 0 1 1   30
NED 3 3 0 1 0   29
FIN 2 3 0 2 3   29
UKR 3 2 0 0 0   23
GRE 2 2 1 1 0   23
TUR 1 0 2 2 2   17
HUN 2 1 0 1 0   16
SUI 1 1 2 0 0   15
POL 0 0 2 2 5   15
EST 1 0 1 3 0   14
SWE 0 2 1 1 1   14
BEL 0 2 1 1 1   14
ISR 2 0 0 0 1   11
IRL 1 1 0 1 0   11
LTU 2 0 0 0 0   10
SLO 0 1 1 1 0   9
CZE 0 0 0 4 0   8
AUT 0 0 2 0 1   7
POR 1 0 0 0 1   6
CYP 1 0 0 0 0   5
SVK 0 1 0 0 0   4
LAT 0 0 1 0 0   3
KOS 0 0 0 1 0   2
DEN 0 0 0 0 2   2
ROU 0 0 0 0 1   1

Take at it as you wish, but it should give a very basic idea of each nation strength before these championships begin.

Not sure how much sense that makes, given that the entry list was released some time ago (and therefore doesn't include performances from last weekend).

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • yesterdays' results:  VS  26-31 Very good result for  to qualify to the main round, the team improved (but not to compete with the high level yet).  is a fast and rapid team but lacking the strength and good defense.    VS  29-29, great game from both giants,  finished the first half 16-11 but a great comeback from  in second half with special thanks to Alex Dujshebev who scored in the last 6 seconds and to Dujshebev junior (Daniel) who saved the long shot from the center to secure the draw in a thriller game. De Vargas (  GK) did one great moment in the game when he saved a penalty and the Ref gave the Swedish player Hampus a red card thinking it came straight to De Vargas face but the GK told the ref it came to his hand asking the ref to cancel the red card in a great moment  (at that time the score was 20-14 to Sweden)      VS  28-38, great game from the African side,  is a big question mark, in 1999 Wch they finished 8th and since then the team performance was keep going down (decent number of players switched nationalities),  was leading the game from start till the end and secure a historical qualify to the main round.    VS  18-23, is it a surprise? ..yes and no ..  should be the more favorable side but their performance even in the European qualification was not great..  beat  in European qualification with 1 goal difference in a very tough game.  was performing very well from the beginning finishing the 1st half 14-8,  GK get the credit for such brilliant result.
