  1. Also, why does Team Europe play against European countries and Team North America against North American countries and so on?
  2. Quick question since I have no idea: how much does this tournament mean/how prestigious is it and how popular is it among ice hockey fans worldwide? Where would you rank it among available ice hockey prizes? (I know the Olympics are probably rated more important and I'm guessing the Stanley Cup is as well, but then?)
  3. True, although I think it makes more sense than gaps of 5kg between categories
  4. And finally, a higher maximum women's category. I doubt it will be competitive, +75kg barely is already, but having 75kg as heaviest category was just a little bullshit.
  5. A lift-off would be cool Though my guess is the first "tie breaker" would be the total amount of missed attempts or something like that?
  6. 2nd place for the Netherlands in the Motocross of Nations, our best result ever (France won, USA 3rd) Herlings beat Antonio Cairoli in a straight-up fight, Cairoli is gonna have a hell of a time next year in MXGP
  7. For those who are interested, CBDN will have a live stream on Facebook of the Brazilian cross-country races in Snowland, Gramado, at 8.30 Brazilian time today https://www.facebook.com/CBDNBrasil
  8. That's pretty interesting indeed
  9. Oh so you used the wrong words It shouldn't be "glued" at the top anymore, but obviously there's no problem in keeping the thread open.
  10. Why should every thread of every finished event be closed !!!!!
  11. I would have fought for at least top-7/8 or something if I didn't forget those last days Congratulations to the winners
  12. Quite a good piece this, mostly about Wiggins and his TUEs and Team Sky not being as transparent as they're always preaching to be. http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/pursuit-of-tour-de-france-glory-costs-team-sky-their-idealism/
  13. And that's the whole point. No doubt there are athletes from USA, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Netherlands, Fiji or whatever that have TUEs which are perfectly fine and normal, but there's also no doubt that there are athletes from USA, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Netherlands, Fiji or whatever who "abuse" the TUE system and should not get the TUEs they do get.
  14. I'm really curious for some people with actual knowledge to comment on all this. Most of what I'm hearing is either "They are all cheaters with their TUEs!!" or "All these TUEs are totally normal!!", but to me it seems quite obvious that both views are bullshit..of course they're not all cheaters, but of course not all TUEs are needed and should even be given..
  15. I wonder if they will ever do more than just put TUEs up online, of which for example Froome already said that he had them so in his case there's literally nothing new. Which all of course still raises the question: how come athletes seem to get allergic/asthmatic right before big moments/Grand Tours/etc?
  16. 17 golds and 7th in the medal table, our most succesful Paralympics (in terms of position on the medal table) since 7th place in 1984 and this time coming in 7th of course means a lot more than in those years (when there were far, far fewer competitive nations) And even more cool that a guy from the small 'company' where I study managed to win silver in his first Paralympics
  17. That sounds a lot like our men's basketball a while back, the decision to stop the national team was even already made..until some magic happened and all of a sudden some good stuff came out Wanna borrow some magic?
  18. I saw about 10 seconds of the 2nd inning I think, that's when the review of the F1 was finished and right before going to a Greek restaurant to eat my bodyweight in tasty meat The Kingdom of the Netherlands won indeed, good continuation of the 8 gold medals the Kingdom of the Netherlands won in Rio
  19. How is it ever going to improve if you stop funding? I've heard our NOC boss talking like this: "These and these sports (swimming, equestrian, judo) disappointed in Rio, we might give them less money"...that only makes it worse
  20. First European championships final for Spain since 1954, very nicely done And our 22nd European title, not exactly unexpected, but still
  21. Well that doesn't sound good..what did they change? The value of pirouettes or something like that?
  22. The Australian wasn't.
  23. That one counted? I thought it was just a warm-up
