  1. He was also the 17th longest reigning monarch in the entire worldwide history
  2. It's one of the most enduring sports in the world...it's not very realistic to expect anyone who won the World Cup in the past 5-10 years was totally clean By the way, this is not really a beginning of anything. It mostly looks as though she actually did treat her lips (judging by several pictures where her lips were indeed pretty messed up).
  3. I gotta show this to my dad, being an artillery man himself I think he'll like this
  4. If my coffin was driven around on artillery, I think it'd be pretty damn awesome These kind of big funerals here only happen with the most important members of the royal family. Usually the horse thingy with the coffin arrives at the "Nieuwe Kerk" (New Church) in Delft then, where it's unloaded and after a ceremony in the church (live on TV) it's being carried down under the church where the "burial chambers" are:
  5. Am I seeing it right that his coffin is being driven around on a piece of artillery?
  6. Beautiful piece of work by the Germans, setting up a perfect sprint train for Norwegian Kristoffer Halvorsen to take the world title
  7. CIPS is trying to get fishing on the Olympic programme http://www.bbc.com/news/world-37638878
  8. I'm cheering for Uwizeye to finish this and take the gold back to Rwanda
  9. Maybe I should watch the X-Files to help your quest
  10. Top-20 surnames in the Netherlands, the only real numbers I could find: comparing 2007 with 1947
  11. 13 boys were called Nikola here in the Netherlands last year by the way
  12. Interesting, how can a foreign name suddenly spread so much
  13. Emma is in the top-3 in Slovakia, Ireland and the Netherlands...interesting
  14. Netherlands Top-20 for boys last year: And the top-20 for girls: Another little fun fact, last year we had 17 boys who had a name with 15 characters or longer And 20 girls with a name of 16 characters or longer, including a 25-character name
  15. Has Milica always been popular or was there a sudden rise in Milica's numbers in 2012-2013? I know we have yearly statistics that show how many times literally every name has been given to a child in that year...hold on. I'm guessing Mohammed and all different variations of that name would be pretty high in the list here (top-3/5).
  16. Normally that would be the millionth case of "shut up with those stupid excuses", but judging by the photo here, it does look like her lips are not exactly alright https://www.nrk.no/sport/ny-skandale-i-norsk-langrenn-1.13176981 But still, a little over a year before the Olympics...this is bad timing
  17. I don't mean I don't believe you (I'm guessing a Slovak knows more about Slovakia than me ), I just thought it was interesting to see that on a national mourning day gambling isn't allowed. Just because I don't really understand the connection between mourning and not being allowed to gamble (it's like closing restaurants and things like that). So to be clear: no disrespect, I just found it interesting
  18. That's an interesting thing for a national mourning day
  19. It's a shame the ITT is only a world championships event since 1994, so it's hard to compare the time trialists throughout the years, but it's quite clear that Martin deserves a mention when trying to come up with the 5 (for example) best time trialists ever. If only it was possible to fairly compare riders from 60-70 years ago to those of today, but so far I would probably still go for the one and only Monsieur Chrono as the number one
  20. Jesus, 53,67 km/h
  21. Nope Tony Martin is destroying the field
  22. Pretty cool that the first guy to cross the finish line takes the gold 3 and a half hours later Decent day for Germany overall with 1st, 2nd and 4th place
  23. That reminds me of Michael Rasmussen in a Tour de France ITT
  24. That looked like a problem for Schmidt
