With two prediction contests coming to their end this Sunday, next week another winter sport prediction contest will begin with the Nordic Skiing FIS World Championships 2023 Prediction Contest. The deadline for entering the contest before the first event begins is February 23th, 12:00 (GMT +1). 
 
Next week, I will also open a prediction contest. I will open the prediction contest for the Combined Speed Skating ISU World Single Distances Championships 2023 and Short Track Speed Skating ISU World Championships. The prediction design for the Speed Skating-part of the contest will be up during next week. The prediction design for the Short Track Speed Skating-part will be published when the first Speed Skating events have begun. I would say you can expect to see the prediction design for this part to be up March 3rd or 4th.

As I followed the same format of the previous editions (which were almost a decade before), I'm aware that some things need to change. Hopefully, by the end of this year we'll have more time to discuss all the suggestions made here in order to improve our awards.

It has been a busy year with a good amount of contests. I would like to thank all the users who have taken their time to participate in these contests. It means a lot to see your engagement in these contest. I have had a busy last half of year which has meant that the time to update this contest has been sparsely, so I thank you all for your patience. 
 
I plan to continue managing these contests in the 2023 as much as I can, but I would be glad if one of two users would lend their time to help me updating provisional standings from time to time as my time has become more limited in the last period of time and still will be limited in the upcoming year. I would be grateful for any help I could get with these prediction contests. 
 
I plan to have two contests in January. Men's Handball IHF World Championship and Men's Field Hockey FIH World Cup.

I think this is the first ever points from Lithuania and maybe Italy and Hungary too . Points after US and Croatia after a long long time.
 
So as for the song selection it was unique . A folk song from Kerala in South India with a lesson to learn to believe in yourself and explore rather than just listen to what others teach . It has 2 folk dances shown on the video and also local Indian musical instrument Tabla . Basically a modernized version of the folk song that can leave a lasting impression on your mind.

I'm sorry for the slow updates on the provisional standing throughout the contest. As mentioned before, I had one week of vacation that came in the way. Apologies from my side, but finallly the last standings was posted.
 
The next couple of prediction contests will be held in the end of August with the Women's Ice Hockey IIHF World Championship 2022 from August 26th - September 4th and Men's Volleyball FIVB World Championships 2022 from August 26th - September 11th.

@Vektorthanks for the organization and the beautiful descriptions of your country: this contest and the Giro's start gave me the chance to discover lots of things beyond the beautiful Budapest and Balaton Lake (famous for the open water swimming competitions).
 
The only thing that bothers me is that in Italy only two public library have Egri csillagok in Italian and you can't even buy it because it's out of print, but I have found an ebook version in English on Amazon so maybe in the future I'll buy it.
 
I was really impressed by the fact that everyone in Hungary has read it, in Italy everyone studies at school (and at least knows something about) Promessi Sposi by Alessandro Manzoni (the best Italian novel) and Commedia by Dante Alighieri (one of the most important poem in the world literature) but very few people have really read them from the beginning to the end.
