    Gracenote have adjusted their predicted medal total for GB upwards from 52 to 62. Interesting because in the original 52 were two individual medals for Dina and several other week 2 medals that feel fairly unlikely. They now predict 16 golds instead of 14 as well.

    They would have to do it so each member did one or two of the disciplines rather than a brief swim, a tiny bit of fencing , a couple of jumps and a few shots and a short run as that would look daft and not be exciting as they would always have to be gaps as people dried and changed outfits.

    It only needs one or two of the likely medal contenders to suffer an elimination for their hopes to be over and it all to be shock up.

    I suspect the team event will be mayhem in terms of not being able to drop an eliminated rider score.

    I think Shelly and Shericka like each other as they celebrating together - it’s Elaine and them two that don’t get on.

    1,2,3 for Jamaica. Broke Fl-Jo’s OR. Thompson- Herrah doesn’t seem to be popular with Fraser- Pryce and Jackson at all - they barely congratulated each other - that will make the relay interesting.

    I think most countries didn’t really take it seriously. Poland (as a country with a strong relay pedigree) did and rightly deserved their gold. The USA and GB were among those who did not.

    The 800 women seem fantastic. I really hope one of them gets a medal. The other stand outs have been Netta and the men’s high jump and pole vault at least making their finals.

    I imagine a lot of broadcasters would be similarly over optimistic - Particularly at at a games where the star quality of Atheltics - both domestic British stars and global international stars - is at a low.

    It shows GB Athletics are scared of the funding collapse that is coming.

    Dina Asher Smith has pulled out of the 200m and has explained her major injury issues.

    Helped doing well in the relays and Dina and KJT being in form which they are not. Plus in 2017 Mo Farah was still there.

    Speculation about her fitness and that fact her endurance appears to be gone. The main mention came from Stadium based reporter Jeanette Kwakye.

    The BBC have just implied Dina Asher - Smith might pull out of the 200m entirely.

    The BBC are implying the Judges are biased towards the Japanese.

    First time since 1980 no Americans race in the final (through of course their 2000 runner has since been DQ). In terms of having entrants in the event it’s the first time since 1948.

    It’s not. It’s suddenly all about Neita and winding up Michael Johnson about the fact no Americans have made it.

    The BBC have virtually given up on her already. There all smiling instead about Neita and how it’s the first time since Beijing a British women has made it. The BBC will struggle through once British press start tearing into the Athletics team.

    Yet the international hype for the race seems near non existent outside of Athetics fans.

    I doubt their want to break that themselves. It raise a lot of questions.
