  1. Sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case in the UK. There are reports of fully vaccinated people getting ill enough to need mild hospital treatment,
  2. And most current cases are ones that have been caught outside of Tokyo. The gymnast is over 70km away in another city while the others have likely caught it before departing or on the journey. Jaoan should have pushed it back to 2022 and then got the IOC to move all future games by two years,
  3. Still if it’s one of the two teenagers in the Artistic team that is America’s chance of team gold probably gone and massive opportunity for others.
  4. I think we still getting them because we are outside of Japan.
  5. Sadly as the figures in the UK and Israel are showing it doesn’t seem that low - there is simply not enough unvaccinated people to be the only ones spreading it with our current cases numbers.
  6. Not that common. And maybe if the person has three or more negative tests. But not just one.
  7. Toyota ads will still air outside of Japan during the games just not domestically.
  8. But he has already tested positive. They can’t have rules saying as soon as you test negative again you clear while ordinary people in Tokyo don’t get that benefit. The public there just won’t take it.
  9. I can’t see them letting them move their match. But they can except fully vaccinated people who test positive from quarantine as they could easily pass it on. And with how unpopular the games are in Japan the government would never allow it.
  10. It depends on what event - for example an indoor event won’t take much adjustment to Japanese conditions.
  11. I guess that is why they have flown over more than two weeks before competition begins. What are the protocols for contact and plane sitting. No one seems to know.
  12. The countries where the rates of Covid are currently higher are simply more likely to catch the virus before they travel than if they have come from somewhere where cases are currently low. Obviously once in Tokyo everyone has a similar chance of catching it.
  13. He has said it’s a thigh injury which has ruled him out for a couple of weeks.
  14. I think a lot will come from the UK due to how high Covid is here as they leave - bound to be a few picking it up.
  15. Does it look like Discovery Plus will have every stream?
  16. I think part of it is because Peaty is the most well known swimmer in the UK and therefore the most likely candidate in people eyes to win a relay gold for the first time since 1908. It is interesting that while Britain might end up with 2 or even 3 golds in the pool total medals might be lower than the six won in 2016.
  17. In many sporting competitions this year a positive Covid test is immediately repeated. Is that not the case here?
  18. Not sure about the last two. Agree about Peaty. I think GB will win at least one medal in the women’s triathlon but not sure who or what colour.
