  1. Through even then they will be cases where Human error allowed people to catch Covid. Some will follow the rules and catch it but others will have broken rules and caught it or spread it to others that way.
  2. GB is only planning a maximum of 30 and it might be even less as so many are reluctant.
  3. Surely the IOC must have known about this for a few days being the ceremony is in less than 48 hours.
  4. I think France is the exemption this time around as it still had the old deal and I don’t think did a deal with Europoort like the BBC did to help preserve 2022 and onwards. From 2022 France and UK come under the new deal.
  5. She was obviously waiting to rule out if she was a victim of a false positive.
  6. Not sure where he is at the moment - I would have thought he be in the village by now but it’s not been confirmed. Or how long they had been in Japan.
  7. Me too. Four days before is pushing it to even fully get over the jet lag. I wonder how many are not there yet? It seems from the UK about half haven’t yet left the UK which is a risk with how high the UK Covid cases are.
  8. The Dutch need to be a lot better at the defence or they will suffer against better teams.
  9. Probably not. The remaining two will just compete in the individual event only I suspect. The team event doesn’t need a specific number of countries.
  10. An hundred years on from 1936 would be something I am not sure the IOC will go for.
  11. Can’t see many more goals from the Dutch. They easing off.
  12. I know their saying funding in the Uk not going to be affected by performance but If GB do badly it will have an effect. Every other country will be dealing with the same Covid issues (there is only going to be a few medals at best ruled out due to Covid caught in the Uk).
  13. Sad news. Through she was quite late to be going to Japan with the Skeet being on Monday. Suprised they was no pre camp for Shooters - plenty of athletes not competing till later are already in Japan if not yet in the village. With how high the cases are in the UK they will be quite a few more from the UK testing positive either before departure or shortly after arrival in Japan I sadly suspect. She was tested several times and all were positive so no false test issues.
  14. 79 Olympic related cases. Not sure all of them are in the village. Some of will be people testing positive at pre games camps and also some Olympic related staff who are not in the village.
  15. This Olympics is make or break for the future of Athletics. If the Super Spikes become unpopular then it will be a lot harder to prevent the post Bolt popularity drop from spiralling out of co)549.
  16. Will they want to bid? 2034 feels more realistic for them if Germany don’t got for Summer 2036.
  17. The biggest effect of all this is finding a host for the 2030 Winter Olympics. No way will Sapporo be able to get the people onside. Salt Lake City and Vancouver seem to be only two realistic options and both are flawed.
  18. It’s because the Olympics have become so unpopular in Japan that it has become a consequence of being an electoral issue. Through it’s also because individual cities have the power to to be into an emergency and Tokyo city is a different entity to the wider metropolitan area.
  19. I think as detailed schedules are revealed it will be more in depth. Like the Badminton matches featuring GG competitors are specially named and included. So it will include the same for things like Tennis and Table Tennis. I wonder if it will specifically name individual GB competitors in things like Rowing and Swimming when the start lists are published.
  20. The Press have access so some countries might report the figures. The BBC have a round up for the Uk and some international stars. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/57888185 And here are some other roundups. https://www.foxsports.com.au/tokyo-olympics-2021/olympic-games-tokyo-2021-live-latest-updates-covid-when-does-it-start-schedule-times-australia-aest-simone-biles-zach-lavine/news-story/7b0e4e3242a4b5650da3cf63251c4411?recommendedCount=0 https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/olympics-japan-projected-improve-medals- 082636257.html https://www.eurosport.com/olympics/tokyo-2020/2020/tokyo-2020-team-gb-predicted-to-win-14-gold-medals-including-max-whitlock-adam-peaty-jade-jones_sto8426397/story.shtml https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/olympics/125806764/tokyo-olympics-eight-golds-predicted-for-new-zealand-matching-their-record-haul-37-years-on
  21. Just subscribed to Discovery +. Rather weirdly the archery ranking rounds are included in the list of available events - but only in 15 minute slots at 06.00 and 10.00 BST. Looks like Gymnastics is going to be fully filmed as separate feeds for Horizontal Bars, Floor, Parallel Bars, Vault, Rings, and Pommel Horse along with a general feed are available. This is repeated from Women’s qualification with Vault, Floor, Beam and Uneven Bars. That was always an issue with previous games which saw some qualification routines shown from terrible angles. This carries on into the team finals and looks like it might for the All arounds as loads of feeds are available but they not named. Sepreate feeds are also available for field events in athletics.
  22. Did they not fly in together - I believe a charted plane from Prague was used rather than a commercial flight.
  23. How can they not be related when they all linked to Beach volleyball?
