  1. A "fun" fact about today's date in Portugal: 261 years ago, on today's date (Nobember 1st, 1755), a huge earthquake (estimated 8.5-9.0 scale) ocurred in the sea at the south of Portugal. It was so strong that almost the entire city of Lisbon (our capital) was destroyed, firstly because of the earthquake and the fires it caused, and second because of a tsunami that crushed the city. Around 60000 people died (estimated) because of that, and the city was almost entirely remade from scratch after that.
  2. Amazing Cibulkova!!! And what a match! I guess the secret to win the WTA Finals is to lost the first two group matches!
  3. I just came here to say that Dominka has a new fan here in Portugal!!! What a fighting spirit!!! I'm not sure what she can do tomorrow against Kerber, but I will be chearing for her!
  4. Wow, I got here at the end of the day to listen to new festival of music songs but now I see I missed a big drama show Well, I don't know exactly what happened, and honestly I don't really care about it, but I just think I should repeat my personal opinion on this: Totallympics is a sport's forum. This music contest is awesome and it gives me a lot of new musics to listen (not that many this year for me unfortunately ), but you can organize the final in December or January next year or have no logo at all that I really don't care. And don't understand me wrong, I care for the contest and I would love to see a good result for Portugal, but I understand that everyone here has things to do (work, study, exams, projects) and organizing such things takes time, so whenever it's good for you it's good for me, I won't be waiting for the contest as if my life depends on it, and in the meantime I'll keep watching and commenting here all the sport's competition that I'll be watching So, in conclusion: chill out and watch some sports!
  5. I don't know, if Cubs would won the World Series, a team that doesn't won this title for more than 100 years, and if they won it just one year after the "Back to the Future"'s 2015 "prediction", I think is not only close enough, it's really fantastic
  6. Curious fact: Radwanska gets to the WTA Finals semis for the 3rd consecutive year!
  7. Kerber vs Radwanska, I expect a great match tomorrow! And the second match, how interest can it be! Either we'll have a finalist that qualified loosing her first two matches (like Radwanska last year) or we'll have a finalist who got her WTA Finals spot last Saturday, one day before the competition started
  8. What? The Cubs are in the final?? If they win, it will be a very close prediction by the "Back to the future" movie! (the movie sets on the "future" 2015)
  9. https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set-online/veranstaltung_info_main.php?active_menu=calendar&vernr=74&ver_info_action=catmitlist#a_eventheadend (this one is thanks to @MHSN, because I did the exact same question yesterday hehe )
  10. I missed the match! hahaha Well then, go Cibulkova!!
  11. As an Halep fan, I'll have to cheer against Cibulkova this time However, if Dominika plays like she played her first match, it will be really tough for Simona....
  12. I actually use this timetable for the elimination phases https://karate2016.at/data/DTM_event_schedule_74.pdf or this one for the full competition schedule https://karate2016.at/program/Schedule_Karate World Championships_Eliminations_Finals_Colour.pdf
  13. I (and all my project's Portuguese team) had no idea of this band, and we were really surprised that those Japanese colleagues of us (>30 years old) were so addicted to such a weird music group. But it's weird in a very funny (and Japanese) way haha
  14. AKB48 - Heavy Rotation This is the complete opposite of the Chinese song I put here. I found about this band through some japanese work colleagues of a project I work a few years ago, and those japaneses were totally addicted to this very strange band. For what I know, it's a band made with more than 80 members, all girls, and it's a huge success there in Japan (just look at the views on this video!!! ). Not my style of music, but I think it's something totally different and worth of sharing on a music festival!
  15. Qi Long - Waiting for too long I actually had no idea of which chinese music to send to the Festival, but when I start searching I found this one, which (coincidentially) was a chinese music I remember to listen on the plane when I return from visiting China! I found it very relaxing
  16. Dominika, just like Cibulkova? I guess that is a good name for successful sport's women in Slovakia no?
  17. Big clash yesterday with Kerber beating Halep in 2 sets! Also, too bad for Cibulkova, after the match against Kerber I expected a bit more of her, Madison Keys was just too much for her Today two interesting games: Pliskova vs Kuznetsova (both won their first match) and Radwanska vs Muguruza!
  18. Does anyone knows if there is any website where we can follow the live results? (something like ippon.org for Judo)
  19. had one of my all time favourites in Eurovision, a few years ago, with a girl named Yohanna that ended up in 2nd
  20. Last year I think I chose Angola (african nation + portuguese speaking). So this time I'll choose something completely different! and
  21. Portugal women's football team has qualified to the European Championship for the first time ever!!!! Historic moment!!
  22. Yes they removed it You can watch it here Brahimi goal Actually, he also don't play very well in Porto, always trying to do everything by himself.... He is a great player indeed, and when it works, he does magic stuff like that one, but he need to be a better team player.
  23. This is for @bestmen, a great goal from Brahimi last Saturday
