No Tim Singer for the luge

Damn. I love Olympics, but I hate this broadcasting thing meaning right at the most important moment, we often can't enjoy the commentators we enjoy throughout the season. I want luge with Tim Singer and nobody else. I want bobsleigh and skeleton with Martin Haven and John Morgan and nobody else. During the summer, I want the mountainbiking with Bart Brentjens and the other guy who's name I forget but who's voice I strongly have in my mind. And so on.

First Beijing 2022 Birthday "celebration" in our team today. Our sole female Luge representative at the Games Katarína Šimoňáková celebrated her birthday by exploring and memorizing the Olympic sliding center, Tomorrow starts the first unofficial trainings

Fun fact one of the other birthday guys in Beijing is Šimon Nemec who will have 18 yeasr the day of the Ice Hockey Round of 16, would be great if he´ll celebrate it with some good outcome on the ice + will be fun to see, 2 days before playing against   with the U18 mandatory facemask and then finally playing his first careers match without facemask right in the Last 16 round at the Olympics the day of his birthday.

    Happy Birthday Katka

"Transportation doesn't work very well yet, but it was said there were similar problems before the 2008 Summer Games as well before everything started," says Martin Doktor. "At that time, they also drove six hours to a place distant one hour , because the driver was lost. The closed Olympic bubble, on the other hand, works perfectly here, and no one really gets outside. ” The Czech expedition also received Chinese assistants. Martin Doktor praises that most of them speak English and are very diligent. "We just have to come to terms with the fact that there is a different culture. If you tell one of them to go check the room to see if there is a repaired window, for some reason all five will go check it together. "

but really, it looks for now everything is perfectly prepared, lets just hope the covid will not destroy this wonderful sport holiday we are all waiting for

Huge 2-0 win for against at home, without Davies. Canada still undefeated in qualifying, every other team in CONCACAF has at least two losses.

A couple of minutes ago the 3rd group departed to Beijing.

This time including only 1 athlete (but with her entire team staff and about one ton of material. In addition to 30 pairs of skis (10 pairs of Slalom skis, 10 pairs of Giant Slalom skis and 5 pairs of Downhill skis and 5 pairs of Super-G skis) also different poles, ski boots (8 pairs, 3 of them are pairs for Slalom and 3 pairs for Giant Slalom), racing suits and olympic uniforms, there are also various waxes and other necessary things for training and competitions.

The skis are packed in special bags, they are usually packed in pairs, around 35 pieces of luggage. Also a couple of aluminium boxes where the servicemen packed their things for service. They took also tables for preparing skis and finally also a normal luggage.

Petra Vlhová and her team are right now flying to Dauha and from there to Beijing where she is expected to land Tomorrow shortly afternoon local time, early morning in Slovakia.

It will be already her 3rd Winter Olympics. This time (baring covid or injury disasters) she will compete in Slalom, Giant Slalom, Alpine Combined and Super-G.

Remember Slovakia will face France in the Team Event 1st round, and I can already hear the huge rock of relief that dropped from the   fans, skiers and federation since Petra will not start in the Team Event, she will be already in the flight back to Europe (Team Event, Day 15) Her last race the Alpine Combined is Day 13.

Good Luck Petra, stay healthy and return back home after the games satisfied with your performance.

As a person who has experiences quite enough in journalist world ..... Just wonder why to release such a article.  I know there might be some ppl doubting this issue in the world but releasing such kind of article is kinda what they want .... https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202201/29/WS61f52f96a310cdd39bc842e8.html

As for me, we can already see some athletes, personnel and other people who tested positive after arriving to Beijing but there has been silence about Chinese athletes so far ..... I don't want to offend of our Chinese members here in totallympics or anywhere else ..... But what if a Chinese athlete or team member gets covid positive? Will it be released into the world of media or social media? Can everybody be sure that Chinese authorities will not just try to cover the positive covid test result and let the athlete compete because he/she is a medal contestant? Me, after living in China for almost 7 years, I have always been hoping for the good changes. And as I see some pre-Olympic feedback from athletes and others, it looks good. I just truly hope everything will stay FAIR PLAY from the Chinese side. Because I honestly wish them to organize successful Olympics in fair play spirit without any cover ups..... Nobody is interested in second Sochi and their "sample swapping game" .... So I truly hope for their fair play Games by all means. Because this is the only way, how they can earn more respect from the entire world.

after narrowly surviving the first round, the final round was easy and Iran qualified for the World Cup today for the 3rd time in a row. have to admit that looked impossible a year ago but postponing everything because of COVID helped Iran.

I believe South Korea will qualify too in few days. but the other group is still interesting with Japan, Australia and KSA all winning their matches. interestingly Saudis are not safe yet despite winning 6 out of 7 matches so far.

Everyone acting as if vaccination certifications to enter a country didn't exist before 2021   I wonder what the Novaxes-Heroes of the Free World would have done if they had to play somewhere in Africa where you still need to get the yellow fever or whatever vaccine in order to enter. Or if they were born when smallpox vaccination was mandatory to travel.

Dont get why Aboriginal or not would play any role in this case. As far as I saw, backlash from AU citizens was almost general (except maybe part of ethnic Serbs in Australia), irrespective of ethnic background.

Agree with those who say the main responsibility is with the politicians.
Probably the reasoning was “we need the No 1 to come here and play no matter what, hopefully the rubes will not notice he is not vaccinated”. Well it turned out differently.
Even said that, the martyrology built around Djokovic by some (such as his father) was laughable. His suffering is comparable to Jesus’s, of course LMAO. Wonder when the compulsory Nazi Germany / concentration camp analogy will come (among Covidiots in particular it is fashionable after all with regards to everything Covid)

Ah, the old times when you'd get at least 10 replies specifying that Czech Republic etc. aren't in Eastern Europe.
Nowadays, even on something completely unlerated to nationality, everyone is Eastern if they can play the victim of the Big Bad West

Celebrations of Djokovic because he "stands by his own opinion" are so dumb...on the contrary, if he stood by his opinion he would have simply said: I'm not getting the vaccine because I think it's bullshit and not entering any place and tournament if they require it. Instead he's a huge hypocrite and made up claims of medical exemptions to get more money and records. And if he campaigned for other people to get vaccinated while thinking vaccines are dangerous it's even worse.

Also laughable the fact that after all this time people are still using the "in DR Congo with no vaccines people are not dying on the streets" argument...by a quick Google search in DR Congo: 46% of population is under 15, median age is 19, child mortality rate 7-10%, only a few people are over 50...not a surprise that in countries where nearly all the a bit frail and a bit old people are already dead there won't be many dying of covid on the streets, vaccine or not vaccine.

Clown NoVax has no dignity left anyway so he might as well claim he has a critical medical condition and play the victim of the system role. Hopefully he is given a huge helicopter hat to wear so he can avoid people coming within 3 metres of him.
