Brousseau is really on the way up! Gold in the 400m followed up by a decent split in the 4x200m.

Yeah, she's carried over her success from the world championships here nicely despite the slower times (though that's to be expected in October). Would not be surprised if she becomes the 2nd best Canadian 200m freestyler by Olympic trials next year.

More Canadian updates.

Along with the “loss” by Scarlett Delgado (albeit questionable), the worst result of the day has to be Cody Young’s R1 heat loss to Venezuela’s Francisco Bellorin.

More from the surfing venue, Lima 2019 bronze medalist Sanoa Olin advances to R2 after a heat win over Lucia Indurian. (probably one of the toughest first round draws)

Jake MacNeil/Alexander Russell advance to the quarterfinals in men’s beach volleyball, defeating Uruguay’s Hans Federico Hannibal Fuentes/Nicolas Llambias Carvalho 2-0!

Canada advance to the quarterfinals in women’s team racquetball after a 2-1 tie win over Chile 2-1.

Catherine Choi/Josephine Wu, Brian Yang, Adam Dong/Nyl Yakura, and Ty Lindeman/Josephine Wu all advance to their respective gold medal matches (women’s doubles/men’s singles/men’s doubles/mixed doubles) in badminton!

Rebecca Marino starts off the Pan Am Games with her first ever win, defeating Guatemala’s Deborah Dominguez 2-0 to advance to the round of 16 in women’s singles.

Tammara Thibeault and Charlie Cavanaugh both advance to the semifinals in their respective weightclasses (women’s 75kg/women’s 66kg), and are one win away from qualifying for the Olympics!
