  2. Yes, it was something within Brazil, but I'm so used to these cases of corruptions at the federations, that honestly I don't even pay much attention anymore. Thankfully, the new president of CBDA seems to be taking our sport on the right path...
  3. Not countries, federations. Brazil has 27 state federations, 17 of which were apparently against the elections in CBDA. That's why Brazil was at risk of competing under FINA's flag (there's an article about the matter in Swim Vortex).
  4. I hope this is the first of many times we'll see Brandonn in this event final

  6. Final Standing available here. titicow juliosilva Dunadan Very good day for Brazil as @juliosilva and @titicow ended 1-2 at the Miscellaneous Events at the World Aquatics Championships 2017 contest. Staying at the top of the podium for 7 of the 10 contest's days, juliosilva had a performance so strong that wasn't even necessary to score a single point in the last two events. Similarly, titicow stayed at the podium for most of the contest, winning the silver medal in a close battle with bronze medallist @Dunadan. As usual, also a very strong showing by the italians, placing 3 users among the top 6. In fact, the only user who managed to break the brazilian-italian domination was @mrv86, coming in fourth with the biggest number of perfect predictions of the contest with 3 (tied with dcro, juliosilva and titicow). Rounding up the top 10, @George_D, @dcro and @Dolby had very good moments throughout the tournament. Congrats to me (I guess) for my TB question answer (05:04:03), which was the closest to the actual winning time of the Men's 25km Open Water event (5:02:46), but ultimately that meant absolutely nothing. Thanks all users for the participation and @tuniscof for allowing me to manage this contest (hope to do some more in the future). Now please stand up for the national anthem of Brazil!

  8. Sad news today as the Rio velodrome was hit by balloons and the roof was partially destroyed by a fire. Obviously it's a crime to launch these kinds of balloons and I hope they catch those responsible.

  10. I think most people expected more, actually. But good result overall.
  11. Brazil gold in both Beach Handball tournaments Please bring this sport to the Olympics
  12. No, that was Fernanda Gentil, she has come a loooong way since then Anyway, the embarrassing moment, if anyone is curious:
  13. That wasn't the question, though. I think it was "are you upset?" after 6th place in home Olympics I agree his answer it was unacceptable, but maybe the reporter could have asked in a different way. He apologized right after, but the damage was already done.
  14. Maybe, but sometimes the reporters from SporTV asks really stupid questions
  15. Provisional Standing after Day 9 available here Congrats to @mrv86 for the only perfect prediction of the day

  19. Not that I'm complaining, but Brazil only wins medals in non-Olympic events. I don't see the situation changing a lot for Tokyo.
