Novità sul fronte diritti televisivi in Italia, sky ha annunciato di aver acquistato i diritti per trasmettere in esclusiva UEFA Champions League e UEFA Europa League dal 2018 al 2021. Ha inoltre annunciato un possibile subappalto per i diritti obbligatori per le gare tra trasmettere in chiaro l'eventuale semifinae di Champions League con italiane impegnate, e la finale di entrambe le competizioni.
