And that's how I started my week. Waking up and seeing a post of two guys spinning a soccer ball out of their ass cracks, lol.

Alright, never mind, that’s not the weirdest thing I’ve seen. That title now goes to Cameroon, who spun the footballs on a pencil, and the held those pencils by inserting them into their ass cracks.

I mean, what is this event!?!

Photographic evidence for those who need it...

In defense of Lacrosse, it is about as Pan American as a sport can get. In terms of origin and top countries. I do agree that it largely non-competitive at the moment, but maybe World Games inclusion will help with that a little.

Not that it is a bad thing.

Here is some more Santiago 2023 news, baseball/softball were to be dropped as well, but PASO forced them to keep the sports. So clearly they have their favourites.

Well, without going further in a thread that doesn't belong, let's say I'm against any word that finishes in "-ism". As a profesor at high school said, "any ism seeks to have the absolute truth in a world of relatives"

That's why I call them pseudo communist. They say they're left leaning and keeping the country away from conservatism and neoliberalism, yet:

The President and the Congress he controls is moving towards criminalizing memes about government officials. He was about to deprive 75% of public employees of their computers and then force them to buy them back from the government. He supports strong Evangelical sects, which have cause lack of funds for the National Humans Right Commission, which he calls absurds. He's about to end the independence of the Electoral authority and courts. He cut the funds for public sports and Olympic hopefuls, yet he gave away more than 2 thousand million pesos to private entrepeneurs of the Mexican Baseball League. He signed that aberration called T-MEC, which basically ends any benefit NAFTA had for Mexican industry and services, and now turns the country into a slave force.
I have no ill will toward social (but not socialist) systems, like the policies that have been implemented by some European countries; but, as I have repeatedly said in this forum, there is not a single left leaning or socialist politician in the whole country; just a bunch of  thieves and crooks who use political terms to further down their own personal fortunes.

Well they already made a pictogram for it last year, so it’s not much of a surprise

Remind me how Roller Hockey is more cost effective than Bowling or Racquetball again? Don’t get me wrong, it’d be cool to see it on the program, but I can’t help but feel bad for some core Pan Am sports that have been cheated here.

One of the most controversial elements of every Olympic Games on Totallympics seems to be the slogan. The slogans often receive a lot of hate for being “simple”, “meaningless”, and “cliche.” When @OlympicIRL asked me to create a slogan for this event, I wanted to create something different. I wanted a slogan that was uniquely Japanese, that also conveyed the meaning of the TISC. So once again, without further ado, users of Totallympics, I am pleased to present the slogan of the Totallympics International Song Contest - Special Event.

    Explaining the Slogan:
The slogan is written in the style of a traditional Japanese haiku. It follows the style of Japanese poet Matsuo Basho, who used haiku to describe what is happening in the moment. The slogan aims to capture that same feeling in reference to music. The slogan also includes a reference to the TISC in the form of the name of the informal anthem of TISC (Emotions - Mariah Carey). The slogan also features a nod to the logo, using notes as a description of sound.

Hello there! Just to remind - today is the E5: Long Jump - 9 PM CET, 7 PM GMT, 3 PM EDT, High Noon in the Wild West (aka 12 PM PST).

Once again together with @Olympian1010we'd like to try watching it together so here's the link to Discord once more. Just to remind two things:
    1. The idea of our Discord channel is to watch and enjoy the events together, not to move the discussion outside the forum, so please, use it for the events time only.
    2. The idea of our Discord channel is the voice channel, which some of you might have missed last week. Of course, you can simply join to listen to our discussions, that's not a problem. However, if you join also to share your point of view, please take care of the technical side, aka microphone.

The Games were well attended by the way, the stadium was just built for larger football crowds. On this particular day there was a few thousand people in attendance, they were just sitting in the shade under where that camera was. I actually consider the 2017 Jeux De La Francophonie to be a highly successful event for what it is.

What is Logo? It’s a symbol. It’s the embodiment of a culture, and it's the mark of an event. For the Special Edition of the TISC, I wanted to create something truly special that was uniquely Japanese, while at the same time a great representation of the TISC. So without further ado, users of Totallympics, I present the logo for the Totallympics International Song Contest Special Event.

    Explaining the Logo
Red Circle: There is clearly nothing more identifiably Japanese than the flag of Japan itself. A circle white on a white background. A simple, yet elegant representation of the rising sun. The red circle used in the logo is placed in the center, just like it is on the Japanese flag.
Music Note: Again, there is clearly no better symbol to identify music than the musical note itself. The musical note represents the main purpose of the TISC, the sharing of the music. The note appears to be rising out of the red circle, this is a subtle reference to Japan’s nickname as the Land of the Rising Sun.
Connection between Red Circle and Music Note: If you look at where the music note is connected to the red circle, you’ll notice that it is not a perfect connection like the other side of the music note. This represents the Japanese ideal of wabi-sabi. Wabi-Sabi is the idea of imperfect or incomplete beauty. The connection isn’t perfect, but yet it’s imperfection is beautiful itself.
Lettering: The lettering of the logo is inspired by the business signs of the bustling Tokyo districts like Akihabara and Shinjuku. You can find many examples of vertical lettering in Tokyo.
Typeface: The typeface for the logo is modern, yet simple. Japanese culture is known for it’s special blend of modern and traditional influences. The typeface is an homage to Japanese culture, as well as a nod to Tokyo 2020 (with it’s modern, yet simple visual look).
Placement of words: The placement of words feels chaotic, yet orderly, much the world famous Shibuya Crossing. The box-like shape is even reminiscent of the crosswalks of Shibuya.
Color of Lettering: Pink represents the Sakura, a world-famous symbol of Japan’s natural beauty, and Gray represents the industrialized urban areas of Japan.
