  1. @mrv86 I’ll take the mountain biker and the mountain bike pictogram
  2. It’s ridiculous that bodyweight isn’t the tiebreaker in my opinion. Hopefully that’s one of the reforms that the IWF will make in the future.
  3. I could be wrong, but I thought there used to be (perhaps still is) a rule that the first lifter to lift the weight held the tie break. The other souls have to lift a higher weight if they wanted to leapfrog the leader.
  4. They lost in the quarterfinal stage of the qualification tournament.
  5. If you look at Wrestling here, they have multiple streams listed for the different mats: https://www.nbcolympics.com/wrestling If you at Fencing, they just have a single stream for the session: https://www.nbcolympics.com/fencing Perhaps multi-piste coverage might be added in the future if available...
  6. There was some interesting information in the streaming schedule. Badminton and Wrestling will get multi-court/mat coverage for instance, while it looks like Judo/Fencing won’t (at there’s no separate streams). Sailing will get daily coverage, but it’s still unclear what races will be shown. To me, it doesn’t seem like there’s been many changes to OBS coverage since Rio 2016. I’ll likely only watch through the OBS streams, so broadcast schedule isn’t too important to me, but it would be nice to see what I can watch with family/friends and whatnot.
  7. Whelp, that’s me doing a complete 180 on my sleep/awake cycle There are some (what appear to be) great features though. There’s a rules explanation, competition format breakdown, vocabulary sheet, and other helpful/useful information available for every sport. Not to mention the streaming schedule. I’d imagine @Quaker2001 is already plugging away on his spreadsheet.
  8. I would imagine this will become the next major Supreme Court case.
  9. I can’t wait for “The National Olympic Committee Formerly Known as the Russian Federation” to enter the stadium during the parade of nations.
  10. Stirring trailer for the Refugee Olympic and Paralympic Team
  11. Yeah, that’s possible. Japan and North Korea’s relations could be described as “strained” at best. North Korea had to get special dispensation from Japan to even let their athletes enter the country to compete at the 2017 Asian Winter Games.
  12. Weightlifting shouldn’t even have that complicated of a qualification system. Just leave a couple quotas available for the host country and universality, and then allocate the remaining bulk of quotas through a ranking of each lifters highest total weight lifted over the period of a year to two.
  13. Yonhap News Agency is reporting that North Korea will not attend the 2020 Summer Olympics.
  14. As as I know, the USOPC generally fulfills all or the vast majority of the quotas. The only times I can remember the US giving up quotas is when we pass the limit allowed. The USOPC has/used to have a dumb policy about not sending athletes in non-Olympic sports at the YOG, but maybe that’s changed since we sent SkiMo athlete to Lausanne 2020.
