  1. I think Matt is definitely a favorite for a medal IF he finishes the race. I see at least one of Kriechmayr or Reichelt getting a medal today if not even winning. They have good bibs and both have been in form lately.
  2. They still have Reichelt and Kriechmayr today as contenders and Feller and Matt could do some damage in tehnical disciplines.
  3. Gallhuber is pretty impressive, she might as well be in the top group next race if she beats Swenn Larsson and Feierabend.
  4. In contrast to GS, 8-15 slalom skiers are so far behind the top group. I mean, look how subpar Loeseth has been for the past season, yet she’s able to rack up Top10 results and is no way in danger of losing the spot in the top group.
  5. Vlhova was way too agressive on this snow and Shiffrin way too passive seems like she wasn’t attacking the course at all, like Wendy, ASL and Frida did. Safe to say completely wrong tactics for Vlhova, the snow doesn’t suit her, but that isn’t an excuse for a 2 second deficit!
  6. Seriously it’s like talking to a wall. I know it’s been a while since the Kitz downhill, but even Dressen’s win there wasn’t completely fair. Why was everyone losing crazy amount of times in the middle section? Why did Bennett, Kilde and Caviezel had such poor runs, losing most of the time in the middle section where camera crew showed the wind basically almost being hurricane-like during their bibs. They did not make any mistakes and they all had solid training runs, close or faster than Dressen. How would they suddenly lose up to 2 seconds and for example Kilde only behind faster a couple hundreds of Schwarz. Anyway, the race is over, we know it was unfair, but FIS won’t apologize for the mess anyway, which they’d probably only do if Austrians were the one who felt cheated from the race. Glad the race is going from the calendar on the men’s side, but too bad for the women’s side since it can be quite competitive at times especially the WC races last year.
  7. There are also other quotes but you only chose to highlight Fill’s. Okay lol. Had you watch the race closely you would see the wind impacting the races as many other posters did, yet here you are acting like they all had equal conditions. anyway, my point was for someone that was on a near nervous breakdown while live commentating the biathlon sprint, you sure like to look off a high horse to people that don’t like unfair races. And what research? Do you expect to go read all your posts, I’m not here 24/7 like you to have all that time. And hope you learn to address all the situation not just highlight the stuff that make your argument semi-believeable, eventhough I think you were only one of the two in this thread that found the conditions absolutely fair for everyone. Is it a coincidence that you’re in minority? Is this a conspriracy from other members to try to make a totally fair race seemed fair? anyway, all I said was that Hirscher was lucky with his bib, as the conditions worsened and he wouldn’t have been able to post such time if had drawn a later bib, not sure what exactly do you find incorrect in this statement, considering I assume you watched the race
  8. First of all, maybe because the wind was causing trouble in the middle part? I’m not sure why skiers complained about the wind, we basically saw a snow tornado, and you’re still denying it like you know better than skiers that are actually racing during these conditions. And what I’m saying is it’s ironic you’re complaining about people compaining about unfair conditions/decisions, while you were complaining the whole time at the other event, until it went the way as you pleased. You truly act like a 11-year old.
  9. Pretty sure I saw you crying about Kuzmina and other stuff during women’s sprint so don’t throw rocks in glass houses.
  10. Rewatch the race and also look at the wind that accompanied Bennett and Kilde. I mean even some slalom specialists are in front of Bennett. So how are you going to deny that bib 2 wasn’t better than bibs 14-20
  11. So you seriously think Hirscher had the same conditions as Kilde, Bennett and Caviezel?
  12. As I said, track has been getting gradually worse, which I think it’s pretty obvious to see. My point still stands, Hirscher was extremely lucky to get the bib2, it was the best possible bib today for skiers ranked 11-20 on start list rankings.
  13. Let me refer to you to the 2nd training where Hirscher was +3.91 seconds behind on this same course, while he may not have been going 100%, it’s still stupid to think his run today wasn’t helped by great conditions as opposed to later bibs.
  14. Or you know Svindal would be even faster? Just because he was +0.07 behind Dressen doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be even better in fair conditions.
  15. Innerhofer was faster at 2nd training plus you’re obviously biased if you think speed guys would only be just a second in front of Hirscher lol
  16. Because the track is much slower now, or do you think all speed specialists are just all having bad runs? It’s clear first 5 skiers had a big advantage.
  17. Imagine if Hirscher wouldn’t luck out with his bib for once.

  19. Lesser had a problem with the bullet in one of the shootings so that took quite a while, plus with the wind like in today’s race extremely fast shooting wasn’t a smart tactic. I wouldn’t be too worried about JTB, from his position only extremely fast shooting would give him a chance to climb up the rankings as much as he’d like. He took a gamble, it obviously didn’t work out, but I’d still see him as a heavy favorite for the individual, even more than Fourcade imo.
  20. Happy for Kuzmina, but Laura winning was never in doubt. Bescond is so mediocre, yet somehow flukes these 3rd places from time to time. Hopefully we see some new (but not fluke) medalists in individual and mass start, but favorites like Makarainen, Eckhoff, Wierer and Domracheva are not in their shooting form at all so they basically only have a chance at the mass start.
  21. The reason for Aerni’s casual attire at the training: There was an interview with Luca Aerni. He was sick last week and wanted to stay in bed. But then the coach called him and said, he has to get on the skis, it looks like there is not another training for the combination, so he has to do the trainings run on thursday, otherwise he could not start. They agreed, that he would just start in a normal ski jacket and pants, not in the race suit. Then he got in trouble at the start, because the judge there thought, he is just some random tourist, who stole the starting numbers (copied from some FB group)
  22. Roulin and Kline are tied at 21st place at DH Start List (with Baumann before them out), so they had to do a draw for every training and race, Kline got luckier for the race, even though they both got bibs pretty close to each other, so it won’t make much difference. I see, 1. Jansrud 2. Kriechmayr 3. Franz
  23. Both my favorites (Darya and Kuzmina) completely flopped it today. Wierer was skiing like a snail. It’s not looking good for these Games, plus they’re far behind Laura. Laura already has guaranteed 2 gold medals, there’s no way she’ll be missing that much to lose it and Olsbu and Vitkova surely can not go 4 shooting without missing a shot.
  24. I loved the ending, it was intense and I felt like the medalists deserved it. It’s always a nice day when there’s no fluke medalists at Olympic Games. Not the biggest Wellinger fan but seeing his reaction was pretty sweet. Doubt he can replicate the success on the large hill though.
