  1. Once, we select Manu Bhaker for the 10m quota, she can compete in any women’s event provided she gets MQS for that event. If she can get MQS, she can even compete in Trap. Same for any other shooter. Once you are nominated by NOC, you can participate in any number of events as long as you get MQS.
  2. It would be interesting to see what South African NOC decides. South Africa being continental winners can't take part in world qualification tournaments and SANOC doesn't send teams based on continental quota. Also, I think even now, if SA refuse the men's quota, Egypt will qualify and not the best ranked loser. I don't know what will be the decision in the highly unlikely situation of SA refusing quota, Egypt defeating seed 2/3 in qualifier, and another team from pot 4 winning against seed 1/2 in qualifier.
  3. It doesn't matter if we are 2nd seed or 3rd seed. Important thing is we are in pot 1. Pakistan could be tricky but I am sure we can win easily even against them (provided there government allows them to travel to India). In the women's section, our opponent will be among Korea (tricky but manageable), Belgium (very slim chance against them), USA (they are in free fall at present, so should be easy) and Canada (again we should be favourites). So, if we avoid Belgium, even women's team should qualify.
  4. Olympic qualifiers draw live on 9th September Does this mean that South Africa have accepted the African quota?
  5. This year ISSF's live scoring and broadcast quality has gone down significantly. During yesterday's final, there was no live scoring and even during broadcast, scores were not displayed properly and commentators also didn't bother to tell the scores. This has been the case in all the WCs this year.
  6. Even without pressure of competition, it is still better than staying at home and practicing on their own. This way, they are staying with the team and coaches. Also, though Manu is in MQS event of 10m and 25m events, she is still part of 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event.

  8. Limit is maximum 1 switch per NOC and that switch has to be within the same gender.
  9. MacIntosh has won only one quota in 50x3. She would have won the quota in 10m yesterday but was not eligible. Team GB can nominate anyone to represent them in 50x3 as long as she has achieved MQS in the event. If the shooter also has MQS in 10m, she can start in 10m as well. If Team GB wants they can also swap this quota in 50x3 for another quota in any Women's event.
  10. For first part, as @nitinsanker said, we can't win any more quotas in 10m Air Rifle Women and 10m Air Pistol Men, hence quota winners are participating there. In other events, quota winners are not participating to maximise our chances of winning quota. Hence, Manu is not competing even in 25m Pistol and Anjum is not competing in 50x3 Rifle. And Manu Bhaker has achieved MQS in 25m Pistol. Most likely, Manu and Rahi would be starters in 25m Pistol, but if Annu or someone else wins a quota in 25m Pistol (high chance considering that 4 quotas will be available at Asian qualifiers), we can nominate Manu from that quota and Heena or Yashaswini from the 10m quota won by Manu. Or we can exchange that quota for a quota in 50x3 Women for Anjum and start Apurvi and Elavenil in 10m. There are lot of ways we can use the extra quota even if Manu and Rahi are almost sure to start. Hence, this policy to maximise the chances to win quota.
  11. I think she is 2nd best behind Apurvi. We were unlucky that Anjum won quota in 10m instead of 50x3. Now, we must hope we get an extra quota somewhere to exchange so we can field Apurvi and Valarivan in 10m and Anjum in 50x3. Also, don’t forget Mehuli. She is top class shooter as well
  12. With no India, China, Korea, Iran and only one for Taipei, excellent chance for Mongolia/Singapore and others to win quota(3) in Asian qualifiers.
  13. NRAI has a policy that athletes who have already won a quota will participate in MQS category to maximise chances of winning another quota. Hence, even Anjum starts in MQS for 50x3 while starts in main event for 10m, where we can’t get any more quotas.
  14. Even 4th seed Punia is a junior who is transitioning to seniors. I think they are helped by participating in multiple tournaments while some of the big names have participated sparsely.
  15. We can definitely win a quota in 3x50 and Skeet at Asian qualifiers as well. Also, more chance in Air Pistol than 25m Pistol for Women.
  16. Its normal. Entries close weeks before the event, so we always have a decent amount of withdrawals. In big tournaments, there is always a waiting list to fill those slots and we don’t see walkovers. In smaller tournaments, late withdrawals are normally shown as walkovers as there are no reserves to replace the withdrawals.
  17. India has basically the same status. President is ceremonial head of state, while Prime Minister is head of government and is involved in all the nitty gritty of politics.
  18. You mean by electing someone like Trump?
  19. If Sushil had won a medal here, there was a big chance that he would have tried to force WFI to do similar thing. But, it would have been difficult for him to force it considering that even Bajrang and Vinesh took part in trials.
  20. Mirza should qualify easily. It is bit more difficult for Shruti as she has competed in a large number of events inflating her score. There are couple of riders below her with much better score per event ratio. So, as they will take part in more events, they will overtake her. But, of course, she has a small chance. You can follow the Equestrian qualification thread where we have discussed Mirza's chances in detail.
  21. Amazing performance by Satwik and Chirag. They should jump to WR 9 in the next rankings.
  22. More importantly I think they will be in top 10 next week.
  23. No no dont give solo credit to CIA. It was a joint operation of CIA and Mossad. Mossad and CIA hacked those planes and did 9/11 in which they killed many top people who were against CIA-Mossad and then used it as a reason to attack Afghanistan. Right @bestmen?
  24. He had links to CIA in 80s during Soviet-Afghanistan war. But after arming him and others to resist Soviet Union, CIA lost interest in the area after fall of USSR.
  25. USA never had a plan for Taliban. They were angry at Osama for 9/11 and invaded Afghanistan to get him. And they continue to depend upon Pakistan, one of the only allies of Taliban before 9/11, for strategic inputs to defeat Taliban. Yes, Pakistan will totally help US in defeating Taliban and not milk them for aid in war against terrorism for another generation. Solid logic.
