  1. is provisionally in (depending on the conduct of the host and availability of time during the contest window).
  2. I think you mean Saurabh Chaudhary
  3. Hello Sir, I have a plot on moon I would like to sell. Are you interested?
  4. Yes. There is also a chance in ongoing 470 Asian Championships. There are only 15 teams: 5 from China (not eligible), 5 from India and 5 from other nations. But, since no team of ours participated in Asian Games, not sure how good are our chances of winning the lone quota on offer.
  5. Can you give some concrete example of rising Hindu nationalism and mistreatment of Muslims by Hindus? In India, Muslims have more rights than Hindus. As I said previously, all religions have their own personal laws. Hindu laws are made by parliament while Muslim laws are made by All India Muslim Personal Law Board, a body having only Muslim members. Muslims (and other minorities) have constitutional advantages in field of education as well. Minorities can run educational institutions with minimal government interference and full government subsidy while Hindu educational institutions, even with no government subsidies have a lot of government interference. Similarly, Indian Govt can at any time take over the administration of any Hindu temple but can’t do so with mosques. In the past 6 months, Indian parliament has passed three laws which are seen as creeping Hindu nationalism by Western media. 1) Banning instant triple talak 2) Removal of special status of Jammu and Kashmir and 3) present Citizen Amendment Bill. As I have tried to show, CAB has a very narrow application and should be seen in context of partition and Nehru-Liaquat Pact. I am ready to clear any more doubts that you have with regard to this. Regarding special status of J&K, the previous position was that though J&K was part of India, Indian constitution was not applicable there. So, present government revoked this special status and now the same constitution that is applicable to rest of India is applicable to J&K. Once again, nothing communal about it. As far as Triple Talak is concerned, many Islamic countries also agree that instant triple talak is either against Quran or has no place in todays times and has hence banned it. I have one humble request: Don’t depend on Hollywood to learn about foreign nations/cultures. Slumdog, Hostel, Borat may be great entertainment but they cannot be your main source of information.
  6. The bill doesn't include Jews as well. The bill doesn't include atheists as well. The bill doesn't include Bahai as well. The bill doesn't include Kalash religion as well. As I said earlier, these ad-hoc arrangements have been made by Indian government as and when situation arises. Previously, when large number of Bangladeshis arrived at time of their independence struggle, we granted citizenship to large number of Bangladeshis Muslims as well. Even in this bill, it is not a continuous amnesty but there is a cut-off date of 31 December 2014. So, this Bill is merely in response to a problem and not a template for future. Even now, noted Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen, who is atheist and a vociferous critic of current government, has been given long-term visa on priority basis. So, if in future if we encounter a situation where Ahmadiyas or atheists or some other group is seeking refuge in India, we will give them citizenship as well. To give an example, if Denmark proposes a bill that gives citizenship to Yezidi refugees from Iraq and Syria, would we laud it or say the move is wrong because it doesn't give same rights to the other poor people fleeing ISIS?
  7. No, Ahmadiyas/Qadianis are not included in the CAB. Reason being India considers Ahmadiyas as Muslims. If we have to include them as a class in this bill we have to first recognise them as non-Muslims. (In India, we don't have a common Civil Code. Personal Laws are defined according to religion and declassifying them as Muslims would have major legal issues for them.) I am happy to answer any queries that you or anyone else has on CAB. I can't expect you to have full knowledge about these issues. International media has been spreading a lot of misinformation about CAB, so it is expected that people would have a lot of questions about it. Can't even blame international media fully as our own media is complicit in misinformation.
  8. Simple thumb rule: If you don't want police to use force to crush protests, don't fucking burn buses or pelt stones on the police. P.S. Still waiting for your response to my previous queries. So, repeating them here: 1) What is the issues you have with CAB and 2) What is the connection of Slumdog Millionaire with all this.
  9. As someone who skimmed through all the pages, I think you can summarize the whole debate as Trump is Satan vs Trump is God in surprisingly bad English
  10. This bill expedites the citizenship process for persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. All three countries targeted in the bill are Islamic nations, so Muslims in these three countries are not religious minorities. Persecuted Muslims from these three countries are still free to apply for refugee/citizenship of India. Those applications will be dealt with according to the existing laws. Similarly, even Hindus from around the world are not covered under this law. At the time of Indian independence/partition there was a substantial population of minority in both India and Pakistan which stayed back. Partition was accompanied by large scale riots. India-Pakistan signed Nehru-Liaqat Pact to safeguard minority rights in both countries. But, sadly Pakistan has failed in its duty towards its minorities miserably. Same with Bangladesh. Indira-Mujib Pact has not stopped the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh. We all are aware of the situation in Afghanistan with Taliban. This has resulted in a large number of religious refugees from these three nations in India. Hence, we have created a law addressing the situation. We created similar laws expediting citizenship to Indian-origin Ugandans when they were running away from Idi Amin.
  11. 1) What exactly is your problem with the amendment in the citizenship law. 2) How is Slumdog Millionaire connected with it?
  12. Quota will be reallocated to the highest ranking pair not already qualified at the end of qualification

  15. How I won the ATP/WTA Finals Prediction contest:
  16. Entries for 2019 World Tour Grand Finals Mixed Doubles (top 4 teams get a quota): If Japan is in top 4, the host quota will go to the best ranked Mixed Doubles team not qualified at the end of qualification period.
  17. We cannot get reallocation quotas. From the qualification document: Anish can win the World Ranking quota. That quota is not allocated to NRAI but to Anish. So, no swap or changing the athlete. Apart from Anish, as I have said multiple times, there is a very very small chance for Kynan to get a WR quota. No one else has any chance to win any more quotas. Regarding swaps, we can swap maximum 1 quota and that swap has to be in the same gender. Practically speaking, we have extra quota in Pistol women with Manu starting in both events. So, it is logical to swap Chinki's quota. Now that swap could either be for 50x3 or Shotgun. (We have full quotas in the rest). Decision regarding swap depends on selection of 10m Air Rifle. If Anjum qualifies ahead in 10m, then she will easily start in 50x3 as well, so only logical swap is in Shotgun. But if Elavenil pips Anjum, we can swap Chinki's quota for Anjum in 50x3. Regarding team selection: Anyone interested can read the selection policy of NRAI here. Basically, instead of having one single selection trial, selection would be based on the average of the scores across various competitions and selection trials, with bonus points for Medals/Finals, World Records and Higher Rankings. Quota winners also get bonus points. At present it is very close between Anjum, Apurvi and Elavenil. Mehuli is losing out because she can't get any bonus points as she has been shooting in MQS category.
  18. But still it means Karma is the first Bhutanese athlete to qualify for Olympics. Rest went before the concept of qualification came or were universality places.
  19. Maybe Thailand had a lot of bad Karma.
