Very, very sad news  Has Kilde now reached Svindal in number of injuries. I have lost the count of how many seasons he has left prematurely now. Both Norwegians achieved so much in their careers, but a big "what if" will loom on the full potential they could have had, if not for the frequent injuries.

I think that the couple event is one the worst IOC decision EVER.

German commentator (and co-commentator Marco Büchel) are angry about there being two downhills both here and in Kitzbühel. Both because it might be too tough on the athletes, but also because it devalues the classics: there should be one Streif winner, one Lauberhorn winner, it becomes less special if there's more of them.

What a day! Best result for Italian bobsleigh in the world cup since La Plagne 2012

Former Bulgarian biathlete and World Cup regular for 10 years, Krasimir Anev, has apparently shot himself in the stomach in an attempted suicide.
 
He is in the hospital, but his condition is not good. A day before the incident he had posted a cryptic, literary quote about a friendship betrayal on facebook.

You knew it's gonna happen next ;-)

Lucas Braathen (alpine skiing) has retired at the age of 23.

I would love to avoid the playoffs but we are in such a tough group so it's hard, still we are 2nd and the match against the Dutch on Monday will be critical
 
Also it seems that Turkey will qualify directly which will make our playoff group a lot easier should we need that route...

I can't believe what happened today. I just can't.

First, Andrade beats the former Olympic champion after Wevers had a very solid routine with almost no mistakes, then Flávia finally earns an individual medal on floor after 9 years! And Andrade was SO CLOSE to beating Biles!

It's like a dream! 

So, the double podium in gymnastics and the win against Italy at the same time. This morning is looking like the crazy olympic games haha.
 
And there is the Skateboarding finals starting now.

At the same time Brazil won this match, it also won 2 medals on Gymnastics Worlds. It was nice to see the split screen on national television - something that usually happens only during Olympics.
