Croatia WTF :yikes: Chance for WC are now really small. Even with a win now, it will be too hard.

and probably the Olympics. this World Cup is the main qualifier for the Olympics and the Olympic qualifying tournaments.

Croatia still can gather a better team to beat Romania and Netherlands to at least make it to the second round.

  2. The 2020 Olympic Host Japan probably won't qualify for the 2019 World Cup. as we know FIBA has to approve the host team's level to let them participate automatically.

Japan lost to TPE at home today, they are last in the group and their chance is really slim to advance even to the next round !

Oh well, he's not alone, considering he's only slightly slower than Breitfuss Kammerlander (who you might expect to make short work of any Iranian skier..)

unlike what you think , Iran has a long history in Alpine skiing (not any other winter sport, only this one) and there are so many Alpine skiing courses near Tehran. this is a popular sport here (but only for fun, not for a competitive sport) this is really shameful being still very weak in this sport :facepalm: the worst part is they are showing the competition live in TV and consider "finishing the race" as a great success. :wall::wall:

judges didn't favor Chinese Athletes in Beijing ? Come'on . Gymnastics is a great example , Chinese achieved results where they hadn't and won't achieve . btw for me this's among the least OG , we have seen judges favoring home athletes , i'm following Olympics regularly from 2004 except Vancouver 2010 which i doubt that there was no favoring for Canadian athletes in , i've always seen the host nation as the one to be favored and i can tell u this's among the least favoring host nations at least to my humble opinion and maybe this's because Korea doesn't have elite athletes in such sports like snowboarding , freestyle skiing and figure skating

judges always help the host nation, and China is no innocent. but I can't compare any country to South Korea. whenever they host a tournament in Asia, we know are in trouble.

btw my comment about Chinese skaters getting disqualification wasn't only about this Olympics. whenever I see a Short Track competition and when an accident happens they disqualify China :p:p (and maybe rightfully I'm no expert in this sport)

Wait for 2022 , Chinese will revenge and Koreans will be the ones to disqualify

Chinese are not notorious for cheating at home. at least not as much as Korea.

We know Korea a bit better since they compete in Asia, whenever they host a competition you know bad things will happen. 2002 and 2014 Asian Games were disastrous. I'm not talking about some few mistakes but blatant cheating. they even cheat in badminton, I still remember how they made Taufik Hidayat crying in the team final.

Then you are ignoring the facts... :p Their doubles haven't been bad at different track in the recent times, and apart from them it's just the German that achieved the unusual result...

Most importantly, everyone here has to acknowledge a fact that Yun wouldn't have won a gold medal if these Olympics have been held anywhere else. He is not really an athlete who already had a good career and the home Olympics came as a bonus. No, he was created for the home Olympics. Fact.

That was my point, I know he is talented and deserves the gold for sure. but I mean why Korea couldn't create someone like him in Alpine or CC or Biathlon or even Ski Jumping. I'm sure they tried them too but eventually forced to buy foreign athletes to be at least a bit competitive.

  7. Out of all these sports, Iran sport channel picked up Skeleton for live coverage today morning :d I wonder how many people woke up 5 am to watch Skeleton ! maybe zero :p (can't count myself, I was watching Alpine)

Korea winning the gold here makes me think if Skeleton is easy to learn and improve ?! Korea probably was nobody in this sport 10 years ago. I'm sure they invested money in all winter sports , not just this one.

  8. Iran beat Japan 4-0 for the 12th Asian title. but the match wasn't really easy, for whatever reason our players sometimes lose confidence against Japan. Japan was even a bit better before the 1st goal but when Iran scored in the last minute of the 1st half that was easy from then.

winning Asia is nothing new for Iran but this time they won it much easier, they are improved a lot since last tournament . interesting that one match changed our futsal , I'm talking about that Brazil match in World Cup 1/8 final.

  9. This is really disgusting

but yeah they are "western countries" they are always right . they can mix sports with politics , that's OK for them.

btw Iranian sport officials took it insulting , the government already summon the South Korean ambassador in Tehran for this. and even a boycott is not off the table (which is not going to happen IMO)
