In Malta the water polo league is played in summer. So it is given more exposure by local media since other leagues from other sport disciplines will be on their summer break. There are about 10 teams split up equally in the 1st and 2nd division. Each team is allowed to have one foreigner in their team and the 1st division teams often engage a world class player from Hungary, Croatia or Serbia who have also won Olympic medals and world championships. This has helped to raise the level of water polo in Malta. All national team water polo players play in the local league apart from one player who play in the Italian top league. Being an island surrounded by water is also a factor that attracts youngsters towards this sport.   

As far as Italian league goes, I am a huge Modena and Civitanova fan, so my dream final would be between those two clubs Sadly one of them will be eliminated in semis  

Also I would not complain if a serious surprise would take place ( like in women's Poland Cup where a team from the II division defeated the winners from last year and advanced to semifinal.)

SVK Men´s team qualified for the Euro after todays win 9:2 over Portugal (25:6 in aggregate) but in other hand the Women´s team no, after losing to Turkey 10:9 (the first match ended 11:11 last week in Košice)

The Maltese national team also qualified for the Euro finals by beating Belarus 16-9 after losing the first leg 7-8, An important qualification for Maltese sports confirming our position amongst the top 16 nations in European waterpolo

Wow, Fiorentina captain Davide Astori has died in his sleep last night, aged 31. Obviously today's match Udinese - Fiorentina is cancelled and it seems all Serie A matches of today have been cancelled as well.

Btw, in italian we have the coalitions (and an awful electoral law this year), so almost all the small party are coalized whit other party, so they're vote counts for the all the coaltion.. btw, I'll bet my money (and it would be an easy bet) that no anyone will win this elections

We lost the match which we had to win, now we must waiting months for next match against Kosovo to be sure qualify to next round....
