I think the women's epee team ranking is corrected now, except the poor Hungarian girls are stuck with only 28 points for some reason. They got 24 points (10th place) from the World Cup and 52 points (2nd place) from the Euros, so 76 points overall, same as Italy.

Short summary of how I see these Games for Athletics 0-1-0 1st in their division and promotion. We couldn't have asked for more before the WCh in Budapest. Hopefully it means that Hungarian athletics is finally improving. Beach Handball 0-1-0 I don't like this weird beach team sport, but hey, at least in this version of handball we are an actual medal contender, so that's nice. Boxing 0-0-2 Yay, two quotas! Already better than Tokyo. At least Hungarian boxing isn't completely dead yet, unlike Hungarian weightlifting. Canoe Sprint 1-1-3 I am not pleased, to say the least. We got one world class talent, Ádám Varga, but the rest are not ready. We are far from our dominant days in women's kayak and at this point it's safe to say that we aren't on the right track to win the women's K4 for the 4th SOG in a row. And I have serious doubts about the men's K4 quota. Fencing 1-2-3 5 out of the 6 teams finished in the Top4, which is more than great for us. 4 of our teams have a realistic chance for the Olympic qualification, none of them messed their chances up early on. We are definitely in a better shape than 4 years ago. Kickboxing 1-2-5 Um... yay, we got a bunch of medals? I don't care about this sport at all. Modern pentathlon 0-1-2 That was alright. Two quotas and a medal in the individual events, which is standard from us. But the laser run was very disappointing from Gulyás, she should have won a medal from that position. Shooting 4-0-0 We finally got a quota in shooting and Pekler had an insanely good Games with 4 gold medals. I can't get too excited, I have been burned too many times. I expected a shooting medal in Beijing, London, Rio and Tokyo, and it never happened. Maybe Pekler finally wins our first shooting medal since Athens, who knows... It would have made so much more sense to include the 5000m sprint event instead if they wanted something new. Those races can be fun, they look different compared to the regular sprint races and there are tactics involved that you don't see when they race in different lanes. Yeah, I have learned over the years to not take the youth/junior events too seriously. Hungary was 3rd at the 2009 U20 World Cup, only one of those players ended up being top tier football players during their senior career (Gulácsi). Not to mentionion the numerous junior/youth success in women's handball during the late 2010s, which didn't manifest into a golden age of Hungarian handball in the last few years, to say the least. In team sports these junior/youth tournaments rarely mean anything for the future.

Every NOC with the exception of Czechia wins a quota in the men's final.

Grycz is 24 seconds behind the second to last NOC, so Czechia might be the nation to miss out today.

We only qualified 6 athletes for Tokyo via reaching the entry standard, I wonder if we can perform better this time. We will see if anyone will qualify at the Hungarian Nationals next week in our new athletics stadium.

Well, that's disappointing. It seems Gulyás isn't her top form, she usually doesn't get beaten like this in the running.
