Qualification Tracker

Test

  1. And now will literally play for the quota. I mean, they are also playing to reach the WCh final, but in terms of the Olympic qualification this will determine that whether we get one more European team or Canada in Paris, or New Zealand. Nothing against New Zealand, but their qualification would be kinda terrible. Canada at the very least is capable of beating a top European team on their best day. New Zealand would be a punching bag in Paris.
  2. The remaining 16 nations in women's foil in the R32 4 athletes - 3 athletes - 2 athletes - 1 athlete -
  3. Two upsets in a row might be too much to ask for from Italy, the Dutch are looking strong right now.
  4. If they won't get some kind of appearance/mention during the OC, I will be kinda disappointed. I think Japan didn't feature at all their biggest contributions to the wider modern popculture (anime, Nintendo, Godzilla, etc.)
  5. The 100 free is insane. I think it might be the only event where you need an OQT just to reach the Top16. And that's without Dressel and Milák.
  6. I want a v final because that's something we haven't seen before and we could take proper revenge for the Tokyo SF. As classic as the Serbia-Hungary finals are, I have seen enough of those. And losing another quota to Spain would suck. I am tired of losing to Spain. They beat us at the Women Eurobasket in the semi and they beat us here in the women's tournament. Going 0/3 against them in team sports this year would be cruel, give us at least one win. Now watch the final to be v .
  7. Italy might as well win the entire competition at this point, but for now I am assuming that their miracle wasn't something that they can repeat, and + will take the quotas. If we ignore the giant Italian upset, this would be logical conclusion if you remove the US and Hungary from the table. I mean, apart from that one huge upset literally everything went down the most predictable way so far. But Italy did beat the Dutch at the Euros 3rd place match last year, so who knows...

  9. Kun and Szilágyi lost to Candassamy and Dershwitz in very close matches, and then both fencers won the gold medals kinda easily. Could have been two gold medals for us today, but you shouldn't use up your good luck one year before the Games.
  10. Uh, Italy, can we get back to the fencing please?
  11. Oh well... at least we got our first medal on the first day. Szilágyi can't win the gold for us every time (and this applies to Paris as well, someone has to step up at some point because it's literally impossible for one person to win the gold for us every time).
  12. Kós unsurprisingly withdraws from 200 IM. He will save his energy for the 200 back.
  13. We might be running late, but there's time for loooong video message from everyone's favorite Olympic champion fencer.
  14. I don't know about that, but it sure was entertaining to watch both of them celebrating, running around the arena at 14-14. Max level of commitment on selling the final point.
  15. There it is, WCh medal for in men's sabre v and v in the semis
  16. Well, she didn't look unbeatable, Kun had the upper hand in the QF at the end (13-11) and then wasted her chance.
  17. v and v in the women's epee semis.
  18. women's epee Kong v Navarria Louis Marie v Santuccio Candassamy v Kun Fiamingo v Sun men's sabre Bazadze v Yoshida Elsissy v Gallo Dershwitz v Ha Hryciuk v Szilágyi
  19. Yesss, we will still have a Hungarian in the 200 fly final. Márton with a new personal best.
  20. So close for Pádár. At least she officially qualified for Paris. Maybe she will get there in Paris if she continues to improve,
  21. Pianfetti and Oh are out. The remaining 12 nations 3 athletes - 2 athletes - 1 athlete -
  22. Struggling top teams, but in the end it will still be v . The team that will improve the most after these almost disasterous matches will win that SF.
  23. Unexpected Hungarian upset. Decsi wins against Szatmári in the R32.
