  1. Zhu Yuling taking her second championship back to back. Lin Shidong and Hugo Calderano not making it to Finals twice in a row. Another Star Contender in mid-Feb, then Singapore Smash at the end of February. (Good...can focus more on Milan. )
  2. Alessia Vigilia was the sole rider in the lead for 100km in Stage 1 of the Tour Down Under. The peloton finally caught up to her and passed her with about 300m left to go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv9qr6RumKs&t=950s - here's the final moments
  3. Venus Williams unfortunately loses in the first round of the Australian Open, but she set a record for oldest participant. She lost to Olga Danilovic , who still had another three years to be born when Venus first played in the Australian Open. https://apnews.com/article/venus-williams-australian-open-b7a3a2fc7f19fb25d7e023d892659361 Side note: Did y'all see the 1 Point Slam? I'd never seen it before...fun tournament!
  4. edit - wrong forum
  5. Week 2 (Jan 12-18) Tennis - Emma Navarro and Madison Keys made it to the QF of Adelaide. Desirae Krawczyk and her partner Kichenok from Ukraine made it to the finals, after they had a walkover with their bout vs. #1 seed Hsieh/Ostapenko in QF and then winning their SF bout against Perez/Schuurs. They lost against the #2 seed Siniakova/Zhang. Also, in the opening round of the Australian Open, Venus Williams lost, but did so as the oldest woman to have competed, as she lost to someone who was born after Venus first played in the Open. Read more here. Squash - Timothy Brownell made it to QF in Detroit, but the Women stole the show in Cleveland. Marina Stefanoni made it to the QF, getting knocked out by Olivia Weaver. Weaver then met Sabrina Sobhy in the Finals, with Weaver taking it. Great job! Badminton - Beiwen Zhang made it to her QF round before losing to the #7 seed. Swimming - Ledecky dominated, of course. Several French athletes (including Marchand) were there. Keep your eye on Ryan Erisman and his sister Rylee. He beat a crowded field with seasoned vets in the 200m Free. Coming up Week 3 Tennis - Australian Open will be in full swing! (Pun? Sorry.) Road Cycling - The conclusion of the Road Down Under for the Women, and then it's the Men's turn. Luke Lamperti will be riding Badminton - Now off to Indonesia with the team. Equestrian - We have a 5* Dressage event at the end of the week in Wellington. Fencing - We'll have Sabre competitions in Salt Lake City and Épée in Doha. Squash - A big competition (Platinum) in New York. Let's see if we can have some success!
  6. Lindsey Vonn is now 7/8 for podium finishes this year (DH+SG). (Post 2 updated with all results so far)
  7. World Cup season is up! Check out Post 2 to see a plethora of German flags (with the most other variety happening in Women's Monobob and 2-Woman).
  8. World Cup season ends with Team GB earning every Men's gold medal. Check out the results in Post 2. Congrats to all medallists...was hoping the US would earn a few more (likewise in Luge)!
  9. Post 2 updated with results so far...only one more weekend of racing before MiCo!
  10. Full World Cup results available in Post 2. Congrats to all the medalists...see you in MiCo!
  11. https://swimswam.com/katie-ledecky-fires-off-1523-21-1500-free-2-performance-all-time/ Oh, you know...Katie Ledecky just almost breaking her WR in the 1500m again...
  12. Looks great! Now very easy to stay on top of various sports. Thanks.

  14. Finally got in as well after about an hour-ish in line.
  15. Currently in the queue to sign up for a slot to buy tix for LA28! Anyone else in the queue?
  16. Of course I'm thrilled to have seen two skiiers on the podium in Flachau, but I'm also sure the Austrians were happy to have on the podium, too.
  17. Wow, looks great! Thanks so much! One quick suggestion: Could we get the LA28 'Qualification by Sport/Nation' quick links in the top banner?
  18. USA Swimming Pro Swim Series starts tomorrow in Austin!
  19. Though I did just see that today's race isn't valid for FIS points.
  20. She needs 51.8 points on this event, I think. At this same event last year, that would be the equivalent of 7th place. Guess we'll see!
  21. Team USA 2026 Men's Singles - Jonny Gustafson and Matt Greiner Men's Doubles - Marcus Mueller + Ansel Haugsjaa, and Zack DiGregorio + Sean Hollander Women's Singles - Summer Britcher, Ashley Farquharson, and Emily Fischnaller Women's Doubles - Chevonne Forgan + Sophia Kirkby (And we will compete in the Team Relay.) History Germany traditionally dominates at Luge. We've never won gold, but have won 3 silvers and 3 bronzes. (We won one Silver in 2018, one Bronze in 2014, and one of each in 2002...so it's been a minute.) This is also the first year that Women's Doubles will be contested. We've had a nice World Cup season, so here's hoping for some hardware to take back to the USA!
  22. Is it potentially this clause from D.1: "Each NOC who has qualified athletes in each event (men's and women's singles and men's and women's doubles) will receive priority in ranking and will be allocated a minimum of one quota place for each event."? (i.e. China had someone in all the categories, but not BIH, thus they got priority?)
  23. Team USA 2026 Men - Cam Smith Women - Anna Gibson History This is a new sport to the Olympics. Smith and Gibson paired up in December and won Gold in the Mixed Relay in Solitude. The other nations didn't have their A Team, I don't think, but it was nice to see some success. We'll see what happens!
  24. Updated Post 1 with roster. Looking forward to seeing our team in action. We haven't medaled at any WC this year, but we're doing decently.
  25. Ice climbing season has started! Who's here for it? Did you miss Matt Grooms's voice already? World Cup live streams: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0DMtATwEZ0jR6KC7LcrqljP-nZZGpqZG
