Thanks for saying this. I understand that people don't like the governments of certain places (and that's true for athletes/fans of their own government as well), but this is a moment for the athletes...especially in a moment that's meant to highlight Armonia. Athletes train too hard to be booed because other people don't like their government, which is no fault of the athlete. Enjoyed the ceremony last night...looking forward to watching it on the world feed with no ad breaks, etc. We missed some countries in the parade. I thought the ladies walking in with the country names looked like something out of Star Wars or something. I loved the aesthetic of the rings against the snow. Also...is there actual fire in the cauldron or not? Such a small (image of a) flame! Interesting to see an active athlete light the cauldron!

Whereas most people had two on the podium...only two predictors had two on the podium. Now...can RCS spoil?

Almost everyone in the prediction game has 2 medallists, but nobody has 3...will we have a sweep?

I'll post some interesting stats as we go...but one thing I've found already... Out of 33 participants, everyone has Ilia Malinin, 2-man bobsled, and 4-man bobsled winning gold. I think we're all safe with these bets.

Writing this as I'm watching the OC, having taped it while at work. All right...buckle up for the first big day! (Spoiled since it's a weekend...will be a rude back to work on Monday when I can't watch most of the day..) Here's my to-watch schedule: (all times EST) 05:30 - M Downhill 07:00 - W Skiathlon 08:35 - XD Curling vs. - biggest match so far! Check in with W 3000m (though no athletes) at 10:00 and W Hockey vs. at 10:40. Also check in with M Luge and W Ski Jumping 13:05 - XD Curling vs. (should be easy, hopefully) Also flip between 13:30 - M Big Air SBD, 13:45 Team Figure Skating (Men's - Ilia), and final Ski jumping at 13:57 16:05 - Team Figure Skating - Free Dance (Start list TBD)

Less than 4 hours until the 'official' start!

I mean, can't complain about our progress so far... On top of the leaderboard in figure skating, undefeated in curling so far, won our hockey game, Vonn made it down and had other good showings by Johnson and Wiles...let's go!

Vonn has had a lot of experience skiing injured...she's probably like, 'It's just a torn ACL'. Probably just being dead will prevent her from skiing. (I jokingly told my wife this morning that after these Olympics and having two busted up knees, she probably will get them amputated, then come back as a medal-winning Paralympic skier.)

Glad to see she made it down in one piece!

And it is Malinin who will do the M FS. 10 Points for C&B!

Vonn is suited up...quite curious (and nervous) to see her ski... (But lots of course holds....)

I didn't wake up to watch the match, but I fully expected to wake up seeing an L for , but what a nice surprise on this Friday!

I woke up this morning, fulling expecting to see an L for us...but nope! 7-5 over ! Go Team K/Cor(e)y!

A great day for ! We won both curling matches and our W hockey match. Oliver Martin is into the finals for Big Air Snowboard. Tomorrow is the best day...OC! But also... Figure Skating - We get the first three rounds of the team event (Dance, Pairs, and Women's) Curling - Games vs. and (The Canada looks to be our toughest, considering how they manhandled today)

I do remember that in 2024, I had to wait until after the Olympics to get certain things on world feed on the Olympics official site, as only the USA broadcast was up. (Much prefer the world feed...)
