  1. Curling trials happening now...and yes, available on Peacock.
  2. NHK Trophy...Green & Parsons were our third ice dancing pair to medal...no other medals this time. Coming home to skate next week!
  3. Got Post 2 updated with the NHK Trophy results added. US only nabbed one medal, but it was our third Ice Dancing pair to medal.
  4. That final for the Mixed Doubles was intense...a sprint to the finish! Chris Bak is something else...did 6 of those races today alone, and was 0.24 seconds away from getting two golds in one day.
  5. Ruben Padilla with a silver in the 2025 WCH individual trampoline! We've never medaled in this sport at the Olympics, but Ruben, who is a repeat champ at mini-double, has also started focusing on the full-size trampoline...pulling out a silver here! Looking forward to seeing how he grows as LA28 approaches!
  6. A fun sport! Never watched it really before today. (And nice to see that the US has some talent)
  7. It's official. Erin McNeice is my favorite athlete. . (Never thought I'd see a T-Rex climbing a boulder.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eA3MN4NLkjo
  8. Just for anyone interested, I found a couple of these Dubai races live streamed on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NXKNv8KSEA
  9. And in his own words, reflecting on winning the medal: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQmjMapDEvF/
  10. https://www.olympics.com/en/news/charles-coste-olympic-champion-dies-age-101 Story from Olympics.com. RIP
  11. I didn't remember his name until seeing this thread, but it was Donovan Bailey in Atlanta. (I know I was watching the Olympics a little earlier, but I don't remember any specifics.). Atlanta was a big one since it was so close to where we lived.
  12. (Oh, and Ilia Malinin's free skate alone would have beaten two competitors based on their combined score. Same thing happened in France two weeks ago. )
  13. Skate Canada... Shocker! Ilia Malinin won big time. Good to see Isabeau Levito win silver for the Women. Kam and O'Shea won bronze. Carreira and Ponomarenko were one point off the podium for the dancers.
  14. Canada bagging two golds and a bronze at Skate Canada, and the USA one point away from getting a medal in each event. Post 2 updated with results.
  15. Sabine Winter is one to watch for sure. She took Wang Yidi to the deciding game in the final, and making the score 9-9 in the final game before having Wang take the final two points. She has a style of play rarely seen (I'm basing this on the commentating, as I don't know all the insides of table tennis), and Wang seemed baffled for much of the match. In the end, it was the Chinese player who took the trophy, but Winter has caught my eye!
  16. A heartbreaker for sure!
  17. Alexis takes down another seeded player (Darko Jorgic ). That leaves only one seeded male in the semi-final round (Truls ). Wang Yidi survives a quarter-final scare to be the last remaining Chinese athlete in the tournament, and the only seeded woman left. Stay tuned for tomorrow's exciting conclusion!
  18. Alexis exacts revenge on behalf of the Lebrun brothers and takes down #2 seed Tomokazu Harimoto . Alexis was down 2-0 but then took the next three games in front of a wildly cheering crowd.
  19. https://www.olympics.com/en/news/ioc-la28-announces-ben-winston-scott-givens-key-producers-2028-olympic-and-paralympic-ceremonies LA28 announces Ben Winston and Scott Givens as key producers for 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies
  20. And another one bites the dust... #3 seed Félix Lebrun goes down at the hand of his compatriot Simon Gauzy .
  21. Not a good day to be a seeded player. Of the 16 total seeded players, only half of them survived into the next round (including both #1 seeds). And happy for Adriana Diaz for taking down Zhu Yuling !
  22. And speaking of #1 seeds falling... Kanak Jha just took down Hugo Calderano in R32!
  23. Yes, 4 weight classes isn't a lot!
  24. WTT Champions Montpellier 2025 - Only 3 Chinese men in the MS competition (and only one of them seeded)...but they all go out in the R32! Additionally, the #1 and #2 seeded women, who are from , also went down! There's still a possibility of an all final because the two Chinese women left are in opposite sides of the bracket (seeded 3 and 6), but we'll see. China didn't send their A-team here for sure.
  25. One thing that I'm finding interesting as I look at historical taekwondo results is how many different NOCs earn medals. So far this year, we've had 26 NOCs earn a medal out of 56 total medals (14 events), and the most golds won by any NOC is 2 (and 4 NOCs have done that). In the past decade or so, it hasn't been the case that one country has dominated. Rewind a few years, and South Korea has traditionally been on top (makes sense), but seems like the rest of the world has risen up. (You see this somewhat in Men's table tennis, where many Europeans are joining the ranks of the Chinese.) I know the TKD coach has a big push to 'dominate' the LA28 games, but with only 2 bronze medals now, there's a long way to go in his mind, I'm sure. Curious to see if there is any marked improvement in our program.
