  1. Glad to see you and @Bear Hollow with your predictions. I haven't made my predictions yet, but I agree with most everything y'all have said. I don't know freestyle skiing or snowboard as well...but the other sports seem pretty locked in. I was hoping for better results from Campbell Wright in Biathlon during the WC season...if not '26, then hopefully in '30! My biggest question mark is how the Women's figure skating podium will be. Alysa won gold in the GP Final simply because she skated cleanly...but if any of the Japanese skaters skate cleanly, they'll come out ahead.
  2. I think there are only 2. Italy gets 4. But it will also be weird because I think there are four places where athletes will be marching. We'll see! And I agree with Stolz and Malinin...but I do think they'll both be going home with hardware.
  3. Lindsey Vonn? Mikaela Shiffrin? Jessie Diggins? (Did the Closing Ceremony in 2018) Ilia Malinin? Jordan Stolz? Chock+Bates? Nick Baumgartner?
  4. @Jaden22 Glad to see someone else from here...I'm trying to get conversation going over in the Team USA Club...check it out!
  5. Not OBS but BBC....perhaps it will appease some

  7. Week 3 - 19-25 Jan Tennis - As of this morning, we have four women and two men in the quarterfinals. In doubles, Christian Harrison and his Brit teammate Skupski are into the QF as well. Taylor Townsend and her Czech partner Siniakova are into the QF, and there's still a match with Baptiste/Stearns to see if they make it in. Three Americans (Townsend, Harrison, Tracy) have foreign partners in XD, and are in QF. Road Cycling - Though Chloe Dygert and Luke Lamperti were mentioned by the commentators often as potential contenders, neither finished high up on the rankings. Badminton - No luck here. Equestrian - Anna Marek finished second in the Grand Prix Freestyle event. Fencing - Continued Sabre success. Men's Sabre team brought home silver in Salt Lake. Women's Sabre team finished 6th. Gabriel Feinberg finished 8th in Men's Épée over in Doha. Three of our women went home in the R16. Squash - Olivia Weaver is into the QF. Bring home the Gold, Olivia! I also added into the calendar some friendlies in our Team Sports. Some have already passed. (We won 4 softball games vs. at the beginning of the year. Women's water polo beat and twice each. Men's water polo went 1-1 against . Our Women's soccer team beat 6-0 a couple of days ago.) Field Hockey - Our women played a quick tournament in New Zealand vs. two teams and , and we won! There was also an indoor track and field event in Boston. I don't have the indoor tour on my calendar simply because the track events don't match up (and I likewise don't have indoor archery), but you can check out the calendar of meets here. Coming up in Week 4 Conclusion of Australian Open and the Squash tournament in NYC. (It's being played in Grand Central Terminal...so cool!) Women's football/soccer friendly vs. on Tuesday. Table tennis has an Americas Cup in SanFran. Diving will be going on over in England. No USA athletes here. There's a World Cup Jumping event for equestrian over in California. And finally, our women's Rugby Sevens will play in Singapore. Edit: Also, our Cricket teams are active. Women are trying to qualify for the Women's T20 World Cup, and the Men are gearing up for theirs.
  8. Sometimes a kangaroo upsets the peloton... (Watch at 2:23ish)
  9. Lin Shidong again falls early in Singles...but in Doubles finally pulls out a W. (But had to wait until Contender to get the W.) Wen Ruibo wins Star Contender and Contender...a rising star for sure!
  10. USA three seconds off the podium in the mixed relay...a nice result!
  11. Hadn't updated the rosters...but got those up.
  12. Team USA 2026 Men - Ben Loomis, Niklas Malacinski History 2010 was our year...winning 4 medals and topping the medal chart that year. That was also the only year we ever medaled.
  13. Team USA 2026 Halfpipe Women - Bea Kim, Chloe Kim, Maddie Mastro, Maddy Schaffrick Men - Alessandro Barbieri, Chase Blackwell, Chase Josey, Jake Pates Parallel Giant Slalom Women - Iris Pflum Men - Cody Winters Slopestyle Women - Lily Dhawornvej, Hahna Norman, Jess Perlmutter Men - Jake Canter, Sean FitzSimons, Red Gerard, Ollie Martin Snowboard Cross Women - Stacy Gaskill, Hanna Percy, Brianna Schnorrbusch, Faye Thelen Men - Nick Baumgartner, Nathan Pare, Jake Vedder, Cody Winters History The USA is on top of the medal count overall, though last year, Canada earned more medals than us. We'll see about this year!
  14. Got the roster updated. Our men haven't had the best WC season, but Shiffrin and Vonn have been dominating! Let's go ladies!
  15. Got the roster updated...Jason Colby was starting to pick up steam in the WC...can he somehow fly to victory? (I mean, doubtful...but it can happen...)
  16. Roster updated...we picked up one reallocated spot, so we have a full team. C'mon Diggins and all!
  17. I just saw this video today...fun to see athletes having fun and joking around https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/home-alone-biathlon-style-a-festive-christmas-special/O0kmMjZku8FIIvLbtO3uT
  18. Here's what I have imagined thus far. Feel free to offer suggestions (perhaps if there were features in previous editions). 1) Attached is a list of events, and a spot to put in the IOC code for who you think will win Gold, Silver, or Bronze. 2) Fill it out and post in the appropriate place before the first events on Day -2. 3) I have formulas that can calculate who got the most podium places exactly correct (that is, you thought Austria would win Gold, and they won Gold...I would award you two points), and who guessed best who would be on the podium in general (that is, you thought Austria would get Gold but in reality it was Austria with Silver...I would award you one point). 4) I could share results at the end, seeing who guessed the most medals exactly correct, and who guessed the best podiums regardless of placement. (Because all the calculations are done automatically, it will take no time to calculate at the end.) If this is good, I can make a different thread to be more visible. medalpredictions.xlsx
  19. I have just finished with an Excel spreadsheet that I think will work for this. I will share more in just a little bit once I work out some tweaks.
  20. Trying out road cycling for the first time...watching the Tour Down Under (at least until I fall asleep about halfway through the race, then catch the highlights)...and yes, the NCAA championship football game the other night.
  21. NBC...except I'll prob be watching via Peacock (live/on demand all the events-ish...mostly with world feed...reminds me of the red button when I was in London in 2012)
  22. This is my first Olympics on the forums...is there any sort of guessing game where we try to predict the podiums at each event? (Slash, would there be any interest if not?)
