  1. While I know everyone is focused on the Winter Olympics now, there's going to be a Flag Football match vs. tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7:00 Eastern. Last year, the championship match got rained out, I believe, so we were officially co-champions...so this will unofficially determine the winner. Stream it here.
  2. Too bad training runs aren't official RCS finished first in the M downhill training run today. (But I know they don't mean anything, people aren't giving their all, etc.) RCS is a dark horse...hope he can steal one away when the time comes!¡!
  3. By the way, on the schedule page on the Olympics app and website, you can toggle whether or not it shows results of completed events. Convenient if you need to catch up and don't want spoilers.
  4. Olympic day! Nothing much for us except for M Downhill training. Other nations have their XD Curling RR. But enjoy whatever you get to watch!
  5. Just watched a documentary on Peacock that recently came out about the Biathlon team...give it a watch if you want to learn more about Biathlon and/or our team! It's called Long Shots.
  6. Dunno if this is geoblocked, but this is from our weekly comedy show Saturday Night Live
  7. Per Lindsey's IG post, yes, that is correct.
  8. Did y'all enter the ticket draw?
  9. Looks like your dreams kind of came true for MiCo!
  10. Trying to decide how to balance 'I want to go to the Games' with 'I want to be at home watching all the games'. I imagine we'll end up in LA for some of it and combine it with some area tourism. (Never made it to California before.)
  11. We've had success thus far this Fencing season. Our weaknesses are M Épée and W Sabre. But we've medaled in just about every other event (team and individual). Some top dogs that have medaled thus far: Colin Heathcock - M Sabre Lee Kiefer - W Foil Lauren Scruggs - W Foil Alexander Massialas - M Foil Hadley Husisian - W Épée
  12. I've enjoyed getting to know our Squash team in preparation for LA28. We have one of the top women in the world...Olivia Weaver, who just went up to #3 in the world. We also have Amanda Sobhy and her sister Sabrina, who have both medalled this season. Marina Stefanoni is also one of the top seeds. On the men's side, Timothy Brownell is our top guy, currently world #26.
  13. Completely new to following US Equestrian... Right now, in Dressage, our leaders in the World Cup are Christian Simonson, Kevin Kohmann, and Benjamin Ebeling. None of these competed in Paris 2024. We'll see how they continue to do as they approach the finals in April. Simonson is #9 overall right now. In Jumping, McLain Ward, Laura Kraut, and Kent Farrington are our leaders. Farrington is #1 in the overall rankings apparently. All 3 of these have competed before and won medals. Eventing will start later in the year.
  14. https://winter-olympics-2026.vercel.app/ Someone posted this in the main forum the other day, and I enjoy how they break down the odds for each event based on past results.
  15. Welcome @bret, @esube, @Ds0589, @hickeykt, and @Jamboree619! Edit: And @Mads, @mhbj11, @ctgowolves, @Jerry, @scott_novack, @CAP, @TRICOACHJULIE, @mdh3hc, @stockblock, @Carrot, @BigTallDave, @knmcinerney, @John k, @Jaden22, @lookAlive24, @Charles Fazio, @sea1510, @SarahP, and @Hector Lopez!
  16. Hi, all! Nice to meet other people from with interest in the Olympics. I'm in SC. Work as a Spanish teacher. Dad with two kids at home. My wife loves the Olympics, too, which is good. (I just have dived much deeper.) Love literally any sport in the Olympics. If I don't follow it, then I probably will. I enjoy learning about the new sports, what the rules are, who the main characters are, etc. If I don't like it, I at least try to appreciate it. Oddly enough, some of my least favorite Olympics sports are the 'normal' ones like basketball that are on all the time anyway. Currently biggest fans of Sport Climbing, Table Tennis, Modern Pentathlon, Weightlifting, Biathlon, and Ski Mountaineering. Hope to hear from y'all during the 2026 Olympics and afterwards as we prepare for LA28!
  17. As an aside, I love watching the world feed when possible to get away from the USA-centrism (which is to be expected, to be fair, from NBC). Especially during the Ceremonies...I don't care to keep seeing interviews with our athletes...show me the parade!
  18. Regarding medal performance...as I was doing my predictions...I came up with a terribly high number for the USA, and I know I was being optimistic at times (I mean, how can I choose over for hockey?), and this was of course before Lindsey Vonn's accident...but I think we have a good chance to take home a lot of gold (and medals in general). Sports I'm not as knowledgeable at, but I know we have some shots: Snowboarding and Freestyle. Just didn't manage to wrap my mind around all the disciplines in there in time.
  19. Allison Reed is American (just having gained citizenship to compete). Interesting choice. (Not that it makes her any less Lithuanian, and I wish them all the best.)
  20. I mean, what does she have to lose at this point? (She can pay for whatever surgery she needs afterwards.) (I say this while also hoping she doesn't injure herself more.)
  21. But our ice dance pairs are all better than Japan, so I wonder if C&B will do both, or let someone else take over. By comparison, our third best ice dance team scored 70 points better than Japan's entry in the Grand Prix (source) (Edit: Disregard my scoring math...I hadn't remembered that the Team event is about placement, not points.)
  22. Yep, for sure, and probably they know his stamina. (But he's so young, and surely he can handle an extra couple of minutes!) (Not me telling an Olympic athlete what he should do...haha.
