Rain...not good for relays and baton passing! (After the rainy Paris Olympics and the rain here in Tokyo, I'm looking forward to LA where the weather is usually quite nice!)

Why might an athlete intentionally step on the line after they've thrown? Just don't want to have a poor result on their record? Looks like Erm did so twice.

I like the field feeds with no commentary...interesting to hear the conversations between athletes and coaches.

I missed the pole vault (you know, sleep)...but gonna be a tight race today! Also, looking at forecast, Garland's 1500m seems to be quite slow compared to the others. Would be kind of weird to see someone coming in almost dead last in a race, only to be crowned the victor of the competition.

Earlier, I asked how Kenya had been impeded by Zambia, but they just showed the replay where essentially Zambia did the same thing with Kenya as with USA in a different handoff. Question answered, and weird that Zambia did the same thing twice.

Per the timetable, Group B won't throw until after the two relay re-runs. (Once Group A finishes, the others will need to warm up.)

Fun fact I learned about the decathlon from the commentators (which you may already know)...when they're split into groups (like for the discus), they're actually seeded...but it's based on their results on the pole vault. That's so they can keep those that can jump higher together to keep the competition going (vs. discus where everyone is throwing from the same spot).
