  1. @Wanderer How exactly was Pegula’s early loss unsurprising to you? I get WTA is very inconsistent, but Pegula is one of the women who are very consistent at slams, she always advances past R3. For some context, I did some research, and out of Pegula’s last 8 grand slam results (dating back to Wimbledon 2021, she’s competed in every single slam since then) she’s 5/8 in quarterfinal appearances, and has never once failed to advance past R2 since then.
  2. qualifies for Paris after a 2 (4) - 2 (3) win over and will play for the remaining Olympic quota.

  5. come roaring back with two unanswered goals to lead 2-1 with 6 minutes to go. and still scoreless through 40 minutes.
  6. leads 1-0 through 40 minutes of their Olympic quota match. and scoreless through 30 minutes.
  7. Good day to be a French tennis fan, as Arthur Cazaux upsets [8] Holger Rune 7-6 (4), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3
  8. I was rushing it as you can probably tell, let me know if I’ve made more mistakes
  9. I decided to do a quota simulation for Paris, based off the 2022/2023 World Aquatic Championships prelims/finals relay results. I’m doing this in two parts, as I’m about to watch the Australian Open. Without further ado, here’s the men’s relays that would be qualified: Men’s 4x100m Freestyle Already Qualified Through 2023 Worlds Italy Australia United States Qualified Through Quota Simulation Great Britain (3:11.14 / 2022 Worlds Time) Hungary (3:11.24 / 2022 Worlds Time) China (3:11.38 / 2023 Worlds Time) Canada (3:11.99 / 2022 Worlds Time) Brazil (3:12.21 / 2022 Worlds Time) Spain (3:13.77 / 2023 Worlds Time) Serbia (3:13.83 / 2022 Worlds Time) Israel (3:14.03 / 2023 Worlds) Germany (3:14.04 / 2022 Worlds) France (3:14.54 / 2023 Worlds) Japan (3:14.84 / 2023 Worlds) Sweden (3:15.46 / 2023 Worlds) Poland (3:15.55 / 2023 Worlds) Next Best: KOR 2022 (3:15.69), GRE 2023 (3:15.86), SGP 2023 (3:17.89) Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Already Qualified Through 2023 Worlds Great Britain United States Australia Qualified Through Quota Simulation France (7:03.86 / 2023 Worlds) Italy (7:03.95 / 2023 Worlds) South Korea (7:04.07 / 2023 Worlds) Brazil (7:04.69 / 2022 Worlds) Germany (7:06.14 / 2023 Worlds) Hungary (7:06.27 / 2022 Worlds) Japan (7:08.70 / 2023 Worlds) China (7:09.53 / 2022 Worlds) Israel (7:09.78 / 2023 Worlds) Canada (7:10.67 / 2023 Worlds) Spain (7:10.85 / 2023 Worlds) Switzerland (7:10.87 / 2023 Worlds) Singapore (7:20.31 / 2022 Worlds) Next Best: N/A (next highest ranked relay Vietnam, is over 9 seconds slower so decided not to include any countries here) Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay Already Qualified Through 2023 Worlds United States China Australia Qualified Through Quota Simulation Italy (3:27.51 / 2022 Worlds) France (3:29.88 / 2023 Worlds) Great Britain (3:30.16 / 2023 Worlds) Germany (3:32.11 / 2023 Worlds) Canada (3:32.11 / 2023 Worlds) Japan (3:32.36 / 2023 Worlds) Austria (3.32.80 / 2022 Worlds) South Korea (3:34.25 / 2023 Worlds) Poland (3:34.66 / 2023 Worlds) Brazil (3:34.66 / 2022 Worlds) Ireland (3:35.03 / 2023 Worlds) Spain (3:35.13 / 2023 Worlds) Next Best: SUI 2023 (3:35.46), POR 2023 (3:35.63), ISR (3:36.47), MEX 2023 (3:37.25)
  10. Huge upset in the women’s draw, as Clara Burel downs [5] Jessica Pegula 6-4, 6-2 in the R64
  11. I’m new to following club volleyball, surprised that Sir Safety Perugia didn’t even qualify.

  13. Parallel Slalom WC Bad Gastein | Bad Gastein, Austria Mixed Team Gold- Andreas Prommegger/Sabine Schöeffmann Silver- Daniele Bagozzo/Lucia Dalmasso Bronze- Stefan Baumeister/Ramona Hofmeister Full Results
  14. Can’t believe I forgot about beach volleyball, in history Canada’s only won one singular bronze medal, and there’s a chance we can improve on that with Melissa Humana-Parades/Brandie Wilkerson.
  15. Parallel Slalom WC Bad Gastein | Bad Gastein, Austria Women Gold- Ramona Hofmeister Silver- Sabine Schöeffmann Bronze- Jasmin Coratti Men Gold- Maurizio Bormolini Silver- Arvid Auner Bronze- Fabian Obmann Full Results
  16. Maria Timofeeva with an impressive 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 R64 win over former AO champion Caroline Wozniacki. First set was much closer than what the scoreline suggested. Wozniacki played at high level throughout 1 1/2 sets of the match, just ran out of gas at the end. Great match overall though.
  17. Gordon Johnson with his second penalty corner goal of the game in the 58th minute! lead 3-2 now. Update: Despite many penalty corners in the last few minutes, Canada fall 3-2 to Chile and are eliminated from Olympic contention
  18. Don’t think Spain would purposefully match fix, but they could theoretically not try very hard in this match against Canada, lose, and have a higher chance at qualifying for Paris. You’d fancy your chances in a third place match against Canada more so than Great Britain.
  19. 14th minute goal for Anna Mollenhauer makes it 1-0 for over Don’t expect our lead to last long but still…
  20. 3-1 over after a second goal of the game for Jose Maldonado in the 44th minute. This essentially is a must win, our GD is so terrible that there’s no chance we make it up, a tie would mean our chances are over.
  21. and through to the semifinals in Ranchi, after 10-0 and 2-0 defeats over and respectively
  22. Another goal for Chile, Jose Maldonado scores in the 28th minute. At halftime lead 2-1 Still a long way to go, but doesn’t look like Canada will be qualifying for Paris in field hockey.
  23. Your schedule is pretty tame compared to mine actually. Australian Open, all Canucks/Bills/Warriors matches, Turkish club season volleyball, men’s/women’s field hockey OQTs, a whole bunch of winter sport WCs (all the Olympic ones + ice cross), WTT Contenders Doha, Asian Shotgun Championships, BWF India Open, and Grand Slam Of Curling Canadian Open. There’ll probably also be more sports/events that will get added to the list as the week goes on Handball and Waterpolo Europeans would be there too, but unfortunately can’t find any streaming links anywhere. If you have a free one then please share.
