  1. This is all just for fun, I don’t expect most of it to be right.
  2. Quota/Start List Simulation (Including projected start lists, obviously for nations like China it’ll probably be way off due to their depth) Simulation is based off of the ITTF World Rankings. All the different Asian quotas are quite confusing to me, and it’s very much possible I got something wrong, please feel free to correct me if needed. Men’s Team Host Nation: France (Felix Lebrun, Alexis Lebrun, Simon Gauzy) Oceania Quota: Australia (Nicolas Lum, Aditya Sareen, Finn Luu) Asian Quota: China (Fan Zhendong, Wang Chuqin, Ma Long) European Quota: Sweden (Anton Kallberg, Truls Moregard, Matthias Falck) Pan American Quotas: Brazil (Hugo Calderano, Vitor Ishiy, Guilherme Teodoro), Canada (Eugene Wang, Edward Ly, Jeremy Hazin) African Quota: Egypt (Omar Assar, Ahmed Saleh, Mohammed El-Beiali) World Championships Quotas: Germany (Dang Qiu, Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Patrick Franziska), South Korea (Jang Woojin, Lim Jonghoon, Lee Sang Su), Japan (Shunsuke Togami, Sora Matsushima, Tomokazu Harimoto), Portugal (Marco Freitas, Joao Geraldo, Tiago Apolonia), Chinese Taipei (Kao Cheng-Jui, Chuang Chih-Yuan, Lin Yun-Ju), Hong Kong (Wong Chun-Ting, Lam Siu Hang, Chan Baldwin), Slovenia (Deni Kozul, Darko Jorgic, Peter Hribar), Croatia (Tomislav Pucar, Andrej Gacina, Filip Zeljko) World Rankings Quota: Great Britain (Liam Pitchford, Paul Drinkhall, Tom Jarvis) Men’s Singles African Quotas: Nigeria (Quadri Aruna), Algeria (Mehdi Bouloussa), Senegal (Ibrahima Diaw), Madagascar (Antoine Razafinarivo) Central Asia Quota: Kazakstan (Kirill Gerassimenko) East Asia Quota: Mongolia (Ser-Od Gankhuyag) (not currently in the World Rankings, so I just used results from last years Asian Table Tennis Championships) South Asia Quota: India (Harmeet Desai) Southeast Asia Quota: Singapore (Izaac Quek) European Quotas: Denmark (Jonathan Groth), Spain (Alvaro Robles), Romania (Eduard Ionescu), Belgium (Martin Allegro) Latin America Quotas: Chile (Nicolas Burgos), Cuba (Andy Pereira), Puerto Rico (Brian Alfanador), Mexico (Marcos Madrid) North America Quota: United States (Ma Jinbao) Oceania Quota: New Zealand (Alfred Dela Pena) West Asia Quota: Saudi Arabia (Ali Alkhadrawi) World Ranking Quotas: Austria (Daniel Habesohn), Slovakia (Lubomir Pistej), Italy (Mihai Bobocica), Czech Republic (Lubomir Jancarik), Poland (Jakub Dyjas), Argentina (Santiago Lorenzo), Congo (Saheed Idowu), Finland (Benedek Olah), Hungary (Bence Majoros), Greece (Panagiotis Gionis), Paraguay (Marcelo Aguirre), Ecuador (Alberto Mino), Luxembourg (Luke Mladenovic), South Africa (Luke Abrahams), Iran (Noshad Alamiyan) Universality Quota: ?
  3. I saw that! Great result for both of them.
  4. After the super-g portion of the men’s alpine combined (ok, technically it’s not finished yet, but the final few riders are highly unlikely to make an impact on this), there’s a very tight race for the medals. Elliot Westlund leads (54.35) by a very slight margin over current silver and bronze medalists Leon Hafner (54.40) and Benno Brandis (54.47). Also still in the mix for the medals are Liam Liljenborg in 4th (54.52), followed by Nash Huot-Marchand in 5th (54.68), Robert Clarke in 6th (54.71), Nathan Quintero in 7th (54.89), Leo Scherer in 8th (54.92), Miha Oserban in 9th (55.15), and Jonas Feichter in 10th.
  5. After the super-g portion of the women’s alpine combined, the current leader Fabienne Wenger is 0.48s ahead the rest of the field (55.80). Currently in 2nd is Eva Schachner (56.18), with Maja Waroschitz and Justine Herzog in joint 3rd (56.38). Also not completely out of reach of the medals are super-G champion Camilla Vanni in 5th (56.61), Shaenne Zehnder in 6th (56.79), Antonia Reiscl in 7th (56.84), and Romy Ertl in 8th (56.85)
  6. GSOC Canadian Open | Red Deer, Alberta, Canada Men 1. Team Mouat 2. Team Bottcher (I’m not kidding, their matches are so boring to watch, they’re constantly blanking ends) 3. Team Whyte 3. Team Gushue Bruce Mouat completes the career Grand slam! Women 1. Team Homan 2. Team Tirinzoni 3. Team Jones 3. Team Einarson No career Grand slam for Kerri Einarson as well, but a nice week for her. Full Results
  7. Team Homan wins the GSOC Canadian Open title, after defeating Team Tirinzoni 5-4! Team Homan was down 2-4 heading into the 8th end, after giving up a steal in the 7th (missed an attempt for the blank), but rallied to score 2 in the 8th end, and stole in the extra end after a Patz miss. For skip Rachel Homan, it’s her 15th career GSOC title (15-10 in finals), and second this year after winning the WFG Masters (also coincidentally over Team Tirinzoni) just over a month ago! Homan improves her H2H over Silvana Tirinzoni to 22-8, with 8 wins in their last 9 meetings dating back to April 27, 2019 at the GSOC Championships Cup. Team Homan is now 33-5 on the 2023/24 season, in the 7 events they competed in they’ve made 6 finals, and won 5 titles, with the only loss being at the GSOC KIOTI National to Team Gim (lost 6-7) Despite all of Homan’s slam success though (2 at Tour Challenge, 2 at The National, 4 at Masters, 3 at Canadian Open, 4 at Champions Cup), she still hasn’t won the GSOC Players Championship title , hopefully she can do it this year

  12. Ski Cross WC Nakiska | Nakiska, Alberta, Canada Men Gold- Jonas Lenherr Silver- Florian Wilmsmann Bronze- Youri Duplessis Kergomard Women Gold- Hannah Schmidt Silver- Marielle Berger Sabbatel Bronze- Brittany Phelan A gold and a bronze doesn’t sound like a bad performance, but from a Canadian perspective, at a home WC it definitely is. Only one (!!) Canadian male advanced to the big/small finals (Carson Cook finished in 8th), and all of our heavy hitters bowed out in the quarterfinals. On the women’s side, business as always, although with Naeslund not competing there’s a bit of an asterix in my mind. Also felt the need to mention that there were only 14 entries, slightly lower than other WCs. Full Results
  13. 8th for Dzenifera Germane
  14. @Wumo is it possible if you can remind me to do it in a couple of days
  15. Yes, Mirra liked some pro-Putin posts on Instagram. Pretty much the only reason that’s stopping me from becoming a fan of her at this point. She’s a really talented tennis player, and really good at interviews too. However, that being said, you need to remember that Mirra is only 16 years old. 16 years old!! A literal child. Her political views are probably mainly formed by how her parents and closest relatives perceive the world.
  16. Gabriela Dabrowski/Erin Rouliffe through to the quarterfinals in women’s doubles, after defeating Jiang Xinyu/Hanyu Guo 4-6, 6-1, 6-3
  17. @hckošice just wondering, are you part Ecudorian or something
  18. Just noticed that declined their mixed doubles quota, no clue as to why though. @Vic Liu any articles explaining the Chinese Table Tennis Association’s decision?
  19. Just a reminder. You may already be doing it though.
  20. First win for Canada in mixed team curling, as they defeat Brazil 14-0.
  21. In a very thrilling curling match, edges host-nation 6-5, with a steal in the extra end!
