  5. Great question, I’m not sure. Well… no. But to be honest they were probably going to get crushed anyways When Leonora MacKinnon is your best fencer, and you’ve never heard of the other two you already know you’ll be in some serious trouble.
  6. https://boxingcanada.org/annoucements/update-on-the-olympic-weight-box-offs-at-the-canada-cup/ Alexis Barriere pulled out of the second World Olympic Qualifier. Also, Charlie Cavanaugh will not take part at the Canada Cup which means Sara Kali will be our representative at the second World Olympic Qualifier. I have no idea why. Don’t think either of them are injured.
  7. Look, on one hand I do agree with you that Canada’s women’s epee team is weaker than (probably even a level down) Ukraine or Estonia and it’s probably better for the sport of fencing that a team of their caliber will be at the Olympics. On the other hand, how would them qualifying be undeserved? It’s not like Canada cheated or anything, and they also had to put up results to be 12th in the Olympic Ranking.
  8. Pro-war Sabalenka?? https://www.reuters.com/sports/tennis/i-dont-support-war-or-lukashenko-says-sabalenka-2023-06-06/

  10. Wheelchair rugby qualification has been completed. are the eight teams that will be going to the Paralympics.
  11. Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic World Qualifier Quotas
  12. Heather Bansley/Sophie Bukovec through to the semifinals at the Recife Challenge! Sam Schachter/Dan Dearing bow out in the quarterfinals, getting demolished by a Cuban team that I thought they had a solid chance at defeating. Both finishes should be good enough to add useful points towards their Olympic Ranking. For Dearing/Schachter it’s a 5th useable finish, while for Bansley/Bukovec it’s a 2nd.
  13. Semifinals Results 6 - 3 7 - 9 will take on for bronze @ 11:00 ADT, and will take on for gold @ 17:00 ADT.
  14. 9-7 win over South Korea in the semifinals, and Team Homan will be going for Canada’s first World title since Jones in 2018! We take on Switzerland in the gold medal match tomorrow at 13:00 PST.
