Team Romania pentru Jocurile Europene Cracovia Malopolska 2023!
Echipa Olimpică a României care va participa la Jocurile Europene din Polonia a fost prezentată official în Sala Polivalentă din Complexului Olimpic ”Sydney 2000” din Izvorani.
 
Este cea mai numeroasă delegație a team Romania  prezentă la o edițe a Jocurilor Europene, 150 sportivi (74 feminin &76 masculin). La prima ediție a competiției, la JE Baku 2015, Team Romania a avut 147 de sportivi în delegație, iar la JE Minsk 2019, 123 sportivi.
Tricolorii vor concura la 18 sporturi din cele 29 ale programului competiției multisport de la Cracovia Malopolska.
Purtătorii de drapel la ceremonia de deschidere  vor fi Bianca Ghelber, campioană europeană în 2022 la aruncarea ciocanului, și Cătălin Chirilă, campion mondial și European la canoe în 2022.

I just arrived in Malta to cover my ever second multi-sport games. I will be writing content for Discover the Games this time. I met the guy who runs the website in Birmingham last summer, and we got to scheming this spring. We just launched the new site last week. We’ve got a couple stories about the USA Teqball Tour and European Beach Handball Championships on there, along with some older stories by my colleague. Dupa ce a invins ieri, cu acelasi scor, 5-1 pe Denise Lecarpentier (Franta) si pe Lyudmyla Pavlinets (Ucraina), azi, intr-o finala dramatica, Ale a invins-o si pe Buse Cavusoglu-Tosun (Turcia), 4-4 cu criteriu pt. a noastra. Incze Kriszta, bronz la cat.65 kg, dupa 9-0 cu alta turcoaica. La greco-romane, Denis Mihai va lupta maine pentru bronz. Bilantul fetelor, 2 aur, 2 bronz!

Nationala masculina a Romaniei s-a calificat la Campionatul European de handbal din 2024. Nu am impresionat totusi deloc si am pierdut in preliminarii deplasarile din Insulele Feroe si Ucraina, pe care ar cam fi trebuit sa le castigam. Asta e, bine ca mergem la un european dupa 28 de ani de pauza.
 
La handbal feminin Rapid a pierdut acasa cu Vipers (25-31), iar CSM in deplasare cu Esbjerg (28-32) in turul sferturilor de finala ale Ligii Campionilor. Cred ca CSM are forta sa intoarca scorul in retur, insa Rapid as zice ca e deja eliminata.
 
Iulian Teodosiu s-a clasat pe locul 12 la Grand Prix-ul de sabie de la Seul. Clasare buna si importanta pentru Iulian, mai ales ca a inceput perioada de calificare la Paris. Alexandru Zmau a incheiat concursul pe locul 62. Nu e rau nici rezultatul lui. A trecut de grupe si de preliminarii, dar a avut ghinionul sa dea apoi de Gu Bongil si a fost invins cu 11-15.
 
La tenis Irina Begu e in optimi la Madrid, acolo unde joaca azi cu Samsonova. La dublu Ruse si Niculescu sunt in sferturi si se vor afla fata in fata miercuri. Ruse joaca in pereche cu Kostyuk, iar Niculescu cu Ninomiya.
 
La tenis de masa perechea Samara/Dragoman a luat bronzul in proba de dublu feminin de la WTT Star Contender Bangkok. 

Cinci medalii de aur și un argint au câștigat ai noștri la Campionatele Europene de Canotaj de la Bled. Restul e revanșă.
 
Fetele din dublu rame (Anghel, Vrînceanu) , dublu vâsle (Radiș, Bodnar), patru rame ( Bereș, Bereș, Tivodariu, Rusu), simplu categorie ( I.Cozmiuc) și 8+1 (Radiș, Vrînceanu, Bereș, Bereș, Anghel, Tivodariu, Adam, Rusu, Petreanu) au luat aur, băieții din 8+1 (Lehaci, Bejan, M.Cozmiuc, Berariu, Semciuc, Arteni, Tudosă, Țigănescu, Muntean) argint.

The public general level of interest in our club football was already very low in the last decades, this is nothing new,
 
*older "prehistoric" uncomfortable stadiums,
*bigger clubs from bigger cities for financial and other reasons gradually went bankrupt or disappeared from our National top tier league resulting on *small towns clubs without special fanbase playing the Top-Tier league,
*major european leagues games in TV easily accessible,
*very poor quality of football, I mean watching 90 minutes in a freezing weather of absolute boredome where 22 guys are literally walking on the pitch here and there and time by time someone kick the ball some 20 meters wide of the goal is already not the most tempting idea to do on your Saturday evening...
 
but this season it really touched the absolute new level.
 
 
It was some time ago when some our clubs wanted to restart the Czecho-Slovak league, found even aggreement on the Czech side, I do believe this would help a lot, but UEFA did not allow it and immediatelly stopped this "rebellion" and then we have the situation we have now. Extreme waste of money in a completely unattractive competition that does not attract anyone

Exactly 141 spectators attended Yesterday´s game Liptovský Mikuláš vs Skalica It is already the second time this season less than 200 people attended our Fortuna-Liga match (and the lowest ever amount of spectators, if not counting the games without spectators or the 20/21 season under Covid measures ofc)
 
funny enough also the previous record was set in the match between both teams, but played in Skalica
 
This season it was already the 5th match with less than 400 spectators in the stands Can someone finally answer me, for whom and why is this competition actually being played ? what an incredible waste of money for something that nobody is interested ... even the basketball league (I am really serious) has bigger audiences so to say...

Fun little thing in the Dutch Cup this week: FC Utrecht, a long-time mainstay in the top-level competition, was kicked out in the quarterfinales by the amateurs of SV Spakenburg, 1-4 (yes, Utrecht played at home)  
 
Probably the largest upset in Dutch football in a long time.
 
Fun side fact: Spakenburg is a rather religious village, and they don't play on Sunday (they're in the amateur Saturday competition for that reason, like my own town's club). However....the Cup final is on a Sunday, so if they make it, they'll have to break their own rules (the club rules specifically state they don't play on Sunday). The coach was clear though: "If it's up to me, obviously we're going"  

African U20 Cup of Nations
does their thing by beating on the final day of Group C action. goes 3-0-0 and will draw in the quarterfinals. qualified for the knockout round as C2 by eliminating 2-1. The tournament is not over yet for though as, despite scoring just one goal through three matches, they were the better ranked third-placed team when compared to host . will play to begin Quarterfinal competition on Thursday.

Matchday 1 of Women Campions League ended with two win for Italian teams:  Juve won 2-0 at Zurich; Roma, at debut in WCL, won at home 1-0 with Slavia.
 
 
The big surprise was the defeat at home of Lyon 1-5 by Arsenal.
Never before had any team conceded five as title holders in this competition, nor had Lyon ever done so in any competitive home match.
 
Barca recorded their biggest ever European win, 9-0 over Benfica.
