Wierer and Hauser on penalty loop and Oeberg has a safe bronze.
Eckhoff vs Simon for gold.
-
Eckhoff back to 3rd and still with a big chance for gold. Oeberg lost time though.
-
2 penalty loops for Zuk. Sigh... We're getting lapped here big time.

6th place official ties the second-best ever finish for a woman at alpine skiing World Championships.
We have a grand total of SEVEN Top 8 finishes for women in history (and two in the last two days).
4th place - Dorota Tlałka (1982 slalom)
6th place - Dorota Tlałka (1985 slalom) & Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel (2021 giant slalom)
7th place - Małgorzata Tlałka (1985 slalom)
8th place - Zofia Stopkówna (1939 slalom & combined) & Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel (2021 parallel slalom)
The Tlałka sisters had four more Top 8s in 1987 & 1989 WCh but they competed for France already.

O'Brien really threw the medal away!
-
Liensberger should get a medal with this run
-
Robinson leads but Gisin totally blows it.
-
One mistake from Maryna but still another Top 8!
-
Not even Livio Magoni's gate pattern could help Vlhova here.
Does anyone have more DNFs on the tour than Meta Hrovat?
-
Siebenhofer with a power run... in a GS?
Maybe she's gonna be one skier who goes from speed to tech and actually improves?
-
Frasse Sombet could be the one who makes a significant jump?
Terrible day for Sweden. Alphand lost 3 seconds since half-distance and Hector DNF.
-
Holtmann was terrible in both runs. Marcin Szafranski clrearly says she can't ski on ice
-
Magdalena Luczak beats Filser by 0,01!!! That's an awesome result for her to get Top 25 result at World Championship level
-
Pirovano 1:20,05 in the second run and totally exhausted
-
Late-season transfers to rescue some pride?
-
Magdalena Luczak 24th - 3,07 back. Very good considering she's only 19 yo.

Americans must have insane material when one of their random no-names can compete for a medal. Shiffrin not being in too shape is very good for the competition. Italy must be the most disappointed nation at this event, crazy that a nation with one good athlete (USA) can win more medals than a nation with so many world-class athletes.
This is basically what they call the "North American ice" - a lot of firn or whatever that's called? I'm not surprised the US skiers are doing so well.
Others are having issues, our commentator basically said MF Holtmann can't ski on ice
Stjernesund 4,41 back. Guess Norwegian youngsters can't do shit on ice whatsoever.

Look at Bassino and Vlhova. They will have an early start number in the second run.
Since when 20th in second run is "early" (in Vlhova's case). Besides if the course doesn't suit Bassino like people said it doesn't matter where she starts.
I feel like there could be some real outsiders in the late 20s who can't profit from the fresh course in 2nd run.
-
Suddenly three straight DNFs. I wonder if girls realize there's a great result in the taking with lower bibs and risked too much?

So sadly no Gold for Tess Worley tomorrow, she alway won the Giant Slalom at WCH when she had Bib 1
Early numbers could be an advantage tomorrow, seems to be warm again tomorrow.
That didn't age well. Course looks in good shape in the 20s
-
Nina O'Brien goes 2nd!!!
-
Maryna G-D 6th!!! Very good
-
Liensberger got tired in the end, lost 0,6 secs. in the last section alone.

That post didn't age well. France wins gold
