  1. Max Franz also DNF. Well, Austrian depth in speed events is kinda low these days.
  2. Holy smokes! Cochran-Siegle goes 2nd! Da fuq is going on here?
  3. Odermatt DNF!!! He was really pushing it and only 0,07 behind Kilde at the last split.
  4. Well, McKayla Maroney won silver while landing on her ass. It doesn't get any worse than that Ledeux's final landing was clearly not-gold medal worthy no matter where this event was held.
  5. Nope, that doesn't look good enough from Ledeux with the one ski in the air landing.
  6. Ledecka 0,76 faster than Hofmeister in qualifying run
  7. Yeah, medals pretty much decided already. Looks like another 4th place for
  8. Gremaud actually holds the lead after Gu's second jump. I suppose Ledeux won't crash twice so the podium occupants are basically known already?
  9. Good second jump from Muir but Gremaud with a huge jump to raise her average.
  10. Tess Ledeux takes the early lead in Big Air. Gu Ailing second so I guess the rest can only hope for bronze overall?
  11. I assume even Canadian users here wouldn't have recognized Boyd-Clowes if he walked past them on the street but in 2015 he was forced to start a crowd-funding campaign just to buy plane tickets to attend World or Continental Cups in Europe (he sat out 2014/15 season alltogether). Back then Taylor Henrich was the best Canadian female jumper and even had two World Cup podiums in 2015 but she has retired after 2018 WOG at the age of 23. At least the article predicted that Abigail Strate will be the best among the next generation. Natalie Eilers used to be Canadian #2 but she was displaced by Loutitt before this season. https://calgaryherald.com/sports/mackenzie-boyd-clowes
  12. Btw, Washington Post posted a picture of Nina O'Brien's crash and last time I saw a human's leg bend that way was during NFL game so I assume she broke her ankle at the very least. I don't think she makes it back for the start of next season either
  13. The chief women's controller for the event (Agnieszka Baczkowska) said that all DSQ were for too large suits and all of them exceeded the maximum stretch by over 1 cm so it was a big transgression. She also said she was surprised so many teams decided to bend the rules at the Olympics. She also said they don't control the same things over & over again to avoid being predictable so athletes have to have everything right and don't second guess what parts of their apparel will "never" be checked or sth.
  14. Anyone who follows ski jumping knows those tech controls could get weird and FIS always has the last laugh in the end. Something was definitely up and Horngacher might really regret the Willingen witch hunt. I suppose FIS got upset with all the snitching and went nuclear at the WOG of all places. I wonder if this was to stop the top teams from spying on each other.
  15. DSQ for suits is always a grey area and the unofficial word is that top nation jumpers never get DSQ unless they don't have a chance for a medal anyway. I'd guess someone told the tech delegate (who was a Pole for the women) to play hardball by the rules this time.
  16. Polish women have taken a massive step backwards under Kruczek in the last two seasons As for Canada, Boyd-Clowes is a well known stalwart and Soukup is well, in the "someone has to miss the Q cut" category but I really thought Strate & Loutitt are actually older. I was shocked to learn the latter barely turned 18 last month.
  17. Emily Sweeney also hits the deck there. Ends up crossing the line head first
