At the British trials today World and Olympic 400m gold medalist Christine Ohourogu failed to reach the final. I think this is the end for her after winning medals at nine successive world/Olympic championships.

Meanwhile despite cold weather & rain 18 years old heptathlete  Alina Shukh has just qualified to London with 6208 pts (with quite strong headwind in 100mH and 200m ... -3.2 and -2.8, she managed to achieve PBs in both events). NU20R - the previous record stood for 33 years.

Is it usual for Kenya to finish the medal table with ~10 medals in the African Championships or are they having a bad year/their main athletes skipping the event? Just curious.

Kenya participated with 14 athletes ,Ethiopia 69, South africa 24   but there is no excuse as many Kenyans didn't get the minima
